I have a 2007 919 and notice that after charging up my battery the only way it stays running is leave the charger on and holding the start button as soon as I let off the start button the bike dies any ideas as to what is going on??

based on the fact that you feel the need to charge your battery, the first thing I would suggest is a new battery.

Secondly, does the bike have a power commander? If so, it's a well known issue to have it stall when releasing the starter button. A workaround that has been found is to hold down the starter button for a few seconds after the bike has started.
