Greetings Niners!

I've been around for a while, feels good to be here.

I used to go under the screen names of Honda919Rider and H9R, when the 919 sold, I became good old UJM....

The 919 is still one of my all time favorite motorcycles, may have to get another one, you just never know.....

Now, I'm riding this beast -

It's a 1982 Honda GL500 that I bought for $280.00. It needed a water pump seal, which required dropping the motor, and the guy who brought it into the shop was not willing to pay for the cost of that repair, so we made a deal.

I'm not going to even think about how much I dumped into it....

It's been gone through, I'd take it anywhere in the country without concern.

For what it is, it is a blast. Reliable, super comfortable, handles OK and once wound up runs pretty well - I've caught more that a few VTX1300's off guard and they struggle to catch up, it's all in the timing.....

Anyway, good to see so many familiar faces, I hope to be able to contribute and learn.

Thanks

Thanks everyone.

Here is the side most seen by Harley riders -

Notice those 919 rear winkers - Oh yeah!

I worked at a Honda dealership in service for 2.5 years, learned a lot there. Left about 9 months ago for a job with real benefits, bonus structure and a retirement package, and was laid off last week.

I'm glad, for it was not what I expected, but, with 2 kids stil at home, a house payment, a wife and all that other stuff, it's going to be a challenge.

One I am up too and I have this strange faith that the Lord will see us through this, so there!

The local Yamaha dealership has a ton, and I mean a ton of old parts on hand. They have been in business for a long time, and they mentioned that they might want me to help them unload some of it on eBay.

I'm going to meet with this later this morning, wish me luck in that.

I'm also kicking around the idea of learning CAD, seems there are jobs in that industry, but honestly, I'm not sure exactly where he is leading me.....

One day at a time right now.....

VTX1800N I built when I worked at the shop, rode the heck out of it one summer.

Torque monster.

PCIII, 3" pipes, opened the intake up (has a flapper valve, image that, but you know me by now, I opened that intake up!) and a few other things....
