Greetings from Seattle

I found the Wrist Twister forum a few weeks ago and am very impressed! Great community. I've been reading quige a bit and posting a little bit so I figured it's about time to introduce myself.

Like many on here I have a 919...

"Hi, My name is Mike and I'm a mod-o-holic..."

I bought a silver '04 919 in early February and have been hooked ever since. Before the 919 I was commuting a few miles to work on a 50cc scooter so this is the first real street bike that I've owned. Buying it was the best decision I've made in years!

I bought it to use as a 'project' bike so it's still a work in progress. I liked the style of the Monster, Speed III, SV, etc. but I didn't like everything about them. I wanted to build a naked bike with an inverted fork and I liked the looks of the 919 the best, so this is where the project begins.

Here's a couple pics of the bike so far...

You can only edit a post within 20 minutes of posting and I ran out of time so here's the list.

Mods: (I bought the bike used and it already had some mods - I like some, but others will definitely change)

Yoshimura TRS carbon exhaust
PCIII
K&N air filter
Galfer wave rotors
Stainless brake lines
Sato rearsets
16/44 gearing
Powdercoated wheels
Painted rear hugger/chain guide & side panels
Painted calipers (the rear red is already off, the front red will go soon)
Chromed grab handle, gas cap, side covers (all the chrome must GO!)
CRG bar end mirrors (will be replaced as the project progresses)
Rizoma radiator cover
Dual headlight from Fly-N-Cycle
Michelin Pilot Power tires
Cheap-ass MX bar (the entire front end will eventually be replaced with the RC51 front end - just waiting to get a triple clamp made - the bar will then be replaced with adjustable riser clip-ons)
Buell Lightning windscreen (goin on this weekend)

Future mods:
Way too many to list them all, but the bike will look MUCH different than it does now...

It'll take another 6-9 months to get all the parts on my list (damn this stuff is expensive!!) I'll post more pics next summer when I get it done.

I still have some more expensive parts to purchase before the new front end is ready to swap over (billet triple clamp, rotors, front fender, clip-ons, Rizoma Dynamic mirrors). Once the swap is ready to go then I'll be selling all the old parts, but that's still a few months away. They're a couple months old so It'll probably be $100. I'll let you know when they're ready to go.

There's not enough room for two Mike mod-o-holics. Okay, I guess there is.

Good looking 9er. Welcome to the place.

So the mod race is on! Try to save some mods for the winter so you'll have something to do. That's what I keep telling myself. (probably not gunna happen)

Welcome

Welcome
I've been slowly buying parts over the past 8 months and still have a some major items to get before the project is ready to go together. I figure it'll take me another 6-9 months before I have everything.
I ride to work year around rain or shine so there's not much down time except for weekends. I'm keeping my scooter as a backup just in case some of the work stretches past the weekend... and I imagine that it eventually will.
