First time 919 owner

Just picked up an '02 919....previously rode a '95 zx11GPZ. This site was a great resource in deciding on the 919. Big thanks to all the active forum members for aiding me with my decision through all the great topics and submissions on this site! Im in central Ohio, so Ive barely put 50 miles on the bike yet due to current weather conditions. This is my 3rd bike and coincidentally the 3rd bike Ive had to ride home in the rain post purchase! Im not complaining though! Looking forward to dryer weather and open roads!

welcome DJ if you stick around to long we will have you spending money.

Go over to the naked bike section (not naked people Barton) and post up some pictures of your bike.

Any plans for modifications?

current mods

The bike came with what appears to the ever popular Two Bros Stash Can setup, some pretty mean custom bars, fender eliminator, custom wind, integrated turns on rear, mini turns up front. Bike is in excellent condition with just over 7k on it....cost me 3k and I feel like I got a great deal on it. As for future mods, Im looking in to steel brake lines, waves when the price is right, and a belly pan...when the price is right of course. I havent checked the air filter, but I believe there is a KN in there, if not I will be adding one soon. Please offer any suggestions. This is my first Honda as well.

As far as the brake lines go I say look into the G&J stainless steel brake lines, because they are very affordable and great quality. There is more info about them at the top of the Naked section.

Beyond that mods are what you will enjoy, and everyone is different.

an 02 for 3k?

Yeah that's a good deal depending on maintenance and miles but seeings as how it's the fastest 919 I'd say you did very well.

Welcome.

Welcome.
Much appreciation. The previous owner was the 2nd owner, he bought from a reputable dealer/shop and only put just over 2000 of the 7000+ miles on the engine. Previous owner had a meticulous garage and work stations, so I have no doubt the maintenance was as proper as he suggested. He also included a nice rear stand for no additional charge......and seeing how the bike will be spending a month or so of it evenings in my kitchen...that will make it a bit more pleasant to stare at I suppose. Thanks for the welcome....this is a great forum.....and I've been through enough of em to know!

Who spotted the bike and urged you to steal it at that price, humm!?

Can't wait to ride together, Ginsu!

Obsession is a word the lazy use to define the dedicated.
