BackMarker, Here

Would like to introduce myself..... Monk is my handle, John is my name..... I was told about this forum the other day, by a Honda employee(salesman-Danville,Va.), friend. Looks like a good mix of pep's. I own a 08' Honda VFR Silver. Bought it new(0 miles) 4 months ago(10,000 miles now). I have only been on a overnight trip once so far, I rode to Cherekee,Nc. in the middle of May, and met up with about 60 members of my VFR forum. Rode with them in the "Tail-of-the-Dragon" area About 4/5 days.(love to ride that area). The rest of my riding so far is a 2 hour radius of home. I lived in Denver for about 30 years, I'd say I was riding in the Rockies about 5 out of 7 days a week. I've put over a 100k each of 3 different bikes(Beemer/Yamaha/VFR 99'). I'm retired now, so I hope to be able to get in some riding, finally!....Monk

Welcome. I must ask ... What are PuppyGrips. Yes, I'm too lazy to look it up.

Well the first time I rode around VIR was in 1958(I was about 13, Passenger in a neighbor's Jag). Having moved back to Danville in the last few years, I've been out to VIR Maybe 4 times(spectating)..I use to do track Day's when I was living in Denver. Back in the early 80's I did a 3 day Class From "Keith Code's School"........

Actually... I had two Beemers...1st one was a 72' R-75/5... 2nd was a 02' 1150 RT.... I put the 100k on the 72'.... And about 30k on the 02'.... I liked both of them...... But my favorite bike so far are the VFR's.... When I had the 72', I took a 10 month cross-country ride and play. One of the best times, Although I was carrying a lot of stuff, camping gear plus Parachute with reserve chute. I was going from one "drop-zone" to another, and jumping out of perfectly good aircraft. The 72' was a real champ, never gave me any trouble.

Thx for the CUDo's.... I lived in Oceana (Navy) in the early 60's, for a few years(of course every summer we'd go to sea.... DUUU).
I haven't been there since, liked the place (I'm sure it's changed a lot). I keep thinking I'll ride over there (Haven't gone in the ocean in years).
