Back to basics with a 919.

The 919 had never really been on my radar. I was much more interested in multistradas, Tuonos and speed triples. When I get tired of working around all the quirks, I usually run back to the safety of a vfr (gen 5 being my favorite). And that’s exactly what I was looking for when I found my bone stock ‘07 919 with 11,700 miles on the clock. What a fantastic all around bike.
I had a checklist of “upgrades” ready to improve the 919 and 700 miles later, none of them are needed. One exception may be the seat and even that my be as simple as a pad for longer rides as I’m fairly comfortable for 1 1/2 hours.
I look forward to picking through all the good advice this site has to offer.

Welcome Fidget. I also had a long list of mods before I bought my bike, but don't think I did any of those. Best thing is to ride it and fix what bugs you.

Enjoy and ride safe!

What kind of deal did you get on it here in California and when did you purchase it if you don't mind sharing?

Thank you.
Yeah, I was planning a renthal UL(back ordered everywhere) and some bar-end mirrors. After my first tank of gas I decided the bar is in a very natural position for me at 6’3”. And the stock mirrors are fantastic. A quick glance at either one gives me all the information I need. On a long enough straight away I may be able to see my own headlight
Zero exhaust stink. I put some tank pads on cause I tend to use my legs a bit. Tank bag shows up tomorrow. The one thing that was non-stock was the NC F16 screen. Seems great at 75 with some earplugs.
With a lot of the aftermarket parts being hard to find due to age, I’m really tempted to order a Corbin saddle. The seat is going to be the weak link for me. Plus adding almost 1” won’t hurt. $600+ delivered is eye watering.

I should probably wait until I receive the title from the DMV before answering that
