[Australia] another bloody hornet 900/919 :p

hello wrist twisters! I almost got hit by a granny while exiting a roundabout today!

oh and as of two days ago, I am the proud owner of a black 2007 hornet 900 (or 919 in American :-P )

I also own a yellow 2001 honda VTR250 which is my daily ride as I am on restrictions for another 44 days 18 hours and about 5 minutes . I love her to bits :-)

Here's a pic of my baby in street trim:

and heres a picture playing at the Broadford State Motorcycle Sports Complex (Australia)

and here's a pic of the beast

currently loving all the information on this site! been spending a good part of today reading about 900RR headers haha

How long is the LAMS implied for a novice rider?

Good on you, Abadacus, good place to come to.

We have a LAMS thing now, too, used to be just 250cc, with the authorities seemingly unaware of what a 250cc 2-stroke [like an Aprilia] was capable of.

PVster, I'm tempted to say there's an 18-month probationary period on a LAMS bike for new bike licence holders, but I'm guessing. We have some restrictions for new holders of car licences, too.

thanks for the warm welcome!! yeah I don't see many yellow VTR'S getting around. I guess I'm quite privileged to own one haha. come the day I'm off restrictions my head says to sell it but my heart wants the opposite!
re. the restrictions, they are in place for when you are on your learners permit and for 12 months after you get your license. you can go for your license after a minimum of 3 months on your learners therefore you will be on restrictions for a minimum of 15 months.
in my state (victoria) legislation dictates that we are not allowed to ride motorcycles which do not fall within in hornetfan's description as stated above. however some bikes like the sxv550 are included within the list which makes no sense at all lol..and there have been cases of cbr600rr's zx6's and r6's registered as 'lams approved' which goes to show bureaucrats got no idea bro!
/rant :-P

Like this:

Thus far, mine is the only yellow 919 in the states that I know of.

Rob

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.

Welcome, really diggin' that VTR. I would love to have one of those.

After riding that around you are gonna love the 919's power and torque.
