Red face Another "Newbie" who LOVES this forum!

Someone has suggested I post an introduction, but I'm not sure what to put here. Okay, I can start by saying I'm 50 years old, was born in Bremerton, Washington and grew up in Tacoma. Lived a few other places over the years but always came back to my hometown. I lived in San Diego for a year, Laramie, Wyoming for a few months (too cold and no mall), Sandpoint, Idaho for a few months (again, too cold and too boring), also lived for a year in Kennewick, Washington. Loved it there in the summer but the cold winter drove me back West of the mountains. Went to Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, Washington back in 93-95 for 2 years.

I spend my spare time (when I'm not riding my bike!) taking pictures. I've been doing photography for about 30 years. Mostly car photography, like car shows and drag races and cruise-ins and stuff. But I also do the "mushy" stuff like roses and flowers and dew-covered webs. Feel free to check out my pics on my MySpace profile (you don't need to join to look), www.myspace.com/prostreetphotography.

My other spare time hobby is car audio. I'm currently installing an all-Kenwood system in my car: 3 amps (an 1800-watt and two 1000-watt), deck, 12's, 6x9's, door speakers, tweeters, and more but had to buy Clarion crossover and dash speakers because Kenwood didn't offer much for those. Deck and speakers in, but still building the amp rack for the trunk. Got everything but some of the hardware online. Saved a ton of $!!!

Not really sure what to write here but I'm thinking. What bikes I've had? Well, quite a few in my younger days. Most remembered were a 76 KZ 650, an 82 GS750 (favorite until current bike), and a 91 Nighthawk 750 (pretty to look at but certainly didn't win any performance trophies). Just bought my 2007 Honda 919 a few days before Thanksgiving 2008. Had zero miles. Got a good deal by getting qoutes from different dealers, who were starving in the winter! Each one beat the others' price until I just decided to buy local. Paid $8350 out the door, then another $1250 to have LoJack put in (parts and labor). I have to say, this bike is the most powerful and scarey fast bike I've ever ridden! I've never rode a CBR-type bike but ALMOST bought a Bandit 1250 before I found the 919. That would have been the fastest. But hey, I've always been a lover of naked bikes. I never liked the headlight staying straight ahead when I turn. Or the leaning over. But I might end up with a crotch rocket sooner than later. Until then, I just want to find a place where I can really open this 919 up and go through some gears! It gets up in speed so fast that I never really get above 3rd gear before letting off.

Okay, my intro is getting boring now, sorry. That's because I'm starving. Can't think on an empty stomach.

All I can say is this the absolute BEST forum I have EVER found and joined!!! I've learned so much stuff here since I joined that I had to start copying and pasting stuff into Word so I'd remember all the important stuff.

There ya go, an intro. A bit boring, but then I've never claimed to be a writer.

Oh, I'm a dude.

For someone who didn't know what to write or put in his intro post ... he wrote alot! Oh, just noticed he rides a 919 ... explains it. I'm surprised there was nothing about long walks on the beach ... sipping wine by a fire ... share that special stare with his 919 ...

Welcome! Don't get involved with that Mr. Mike fellow ... he'll make you spend money.

It's better to have loved and lost than live with the psycho for life!

Hello and welcome. Great pictures on your myspace. Those are definitely my kind of cars.

Good to have you... a cold rear tire tends to slide the 919 to starboard. Use your head and have fun...

We are restoring a KZ650 right now...

Welcome and great intro.

You sound like a nice guy, we'll ignore your cat killing tendencies.

To really experience the full potential of the 919, you should try a track day.
