A lurker hello from British Columbia, Canada

Hello!

I've been lurking here for a while but thought it might be prudent to post up in the intro forum!

I bought my 919 in late August, 2012 and discovered this forum shortly after. It's a 2002, local bike & I am the third owner. It's nearly stock save for the suspension upgrades I've done and my trusty Givi V46 top case. I have no plans to do anything else as the bike is fantastic as it is. Mileage is creeping up towards the 70,000 km mark but I only ride to commute in the winter--no pleasure riding until spring. I've got lots of touring planned in 2013 so it should hit that 100,000 km milestone then.

This is my ninth bike but it's quickly becoming my favourite; a truly great all-rounder

It is prudent and just that you post rather than peek.

Horneteers seem to mingle well with each other though they do like to pee on the picnics of outsiders.

You are a Horneteer, now.

It's a beautiful place & I wouldn't live anywhere else at the moment. However, after riding WA/OR/CA, I don't spend much time riding in BC these days

Using the app I can't tell exactly where in bc you are located. The last picture looks more like southern Alberta to me. If you're ever coming out in the Calgary area, let me know and I'll meet you somewhere.

I am in Metro Vancouver, Maple Ridge. The photo with the wind generators is eastern Oregon.

Thanks for the offer

This looks familiar. Check out 1:32, it goes by quick but where you took the picture is where I turned left. Me thinks Enumclaw to Portland via 410 to Yakima and 14 to Vancouver - YouTube

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I've always admired the 919 and I do prefer naked bikes as well. I tend to buy and sell bikes like crazy but I do quite like this one; maybe it will be 'the one'.

I love the ergonomics, fit and finish, the linear motor, the classic gauges and on and on and on. It's a great tourer with the big fuel tank and that motor is buttery smooth. With the resprung front forks and Traxxion Dynamics magic to a CBR F3 shock, I really like the bike's handling and agility compared to other litre-class standards I've owned and ridden.

Here's my other bike at the moment--a 1986 Yamaha FZ600:
