919 mission in Hawaii

Greetings everyone! Aloha from Hawaii, island of Oahu. I've been riding my 650 v-star for 5 years and while I like the looks and sound of it, I'm craving for a little more performance and upright stance. Looking for the UJM and no more bling, just pure riding. Read all about 650 sv's and fz1's but it all kept coming down to the 919, even though red is the only color you can get it in now and gotta hurry because backstock is running out (the dealers say). I put my bike on craigslist yesterday and already have met people who will throw down money as soon as i call them back. Been going to two dealers who said they just sold the last 919s but can order them for me in 10 days. I just have to go back in a couple of days after the v-star sale and commence the ordering. I will surely miss my v-star but I can't wait. I'm looking for a good OTD haggling price but that's for another thread. Anyways nice to join the forum and keep riding safe!

Welcome to the forum. I am also on Oahu and a proud owner of a '02 9er, that I bought in July. I know there was a guy selling his '02 on Craigs for about 2k. Anyway, if you would like to ride with a fellow 9er let me know. There is also another 9er rider on Kauai. When the Stupidferry goes back to Kauai, we can all go riding.

riding is an addiction, no matter what you ride.

welcome. You might miss your v-star on a really long ride, but itd have to be over 500 miles in one day. 919 is an amazing machine.
