WIN A 2010 APRILIA RSV4R HERE! (all legit)

"Times are tough for a lot of folks and Christmas is a time of giving. If you are thinking of helping out a family that needs some help why not consider one of our own?

Check out the raffle for our own X-Man's 2010 Aprilia RSV4. Tickets are $100...if you are thinking "wow that's a lot"...consider this...only 200 tickets will be sold giving you a very good chance at scoring a great bike!...the Aprilia RSV4 with less than 4000 miles.

Our friend Xavier has given a lot to this group...he has been around so long that if he didn't help you to learn how to ride or improve your skills, chances are YOU are learning from someone he did mentor!

Donations are tax deductible and help out our friend not only financially but let him know how much he means to all of us! I don't know what you are riding but I'll bet this bike would look good in your garage any way!"

This is the thread with info on the raffle
The San Diego Sportbike Meetup Group Message Board - The San Diego Sportbike Meetup Group (San Diego, CA) - Meetup

The unfortunate event, please you can see how much the members look up to and care for Xavier Rigau

Thanks in advance and if you can't buy a ticket right now, please help us spread the word. Thanks again and happy holidays!

One of our local San Diego riders has been involved in a serious
motorcycle accident. He is paralyzed from the chest down. I am
raffling off his remaining motorcycle to raise money for him and his
family to cover expenses not covered by insurance.

The motorcycle is a 2010 Aprilia RSV4R. It only has 3987 miles.

We will be selling 200 tickets at $100 each so the odds of winning are
pretty good. Tickets can be purchased by sending $100 to the paypal
account [email protected]. Tickets will include a tax deductible
receipt from the Can't Keep Me Down foundation. 100% of the proceeds
will be donated to Xavier Rigau. The motorcycle will be on display at
GP Motorcycles in San Diego. The raffle will be held at their store on
or before December 31st. If we do not reach our goal of 200 tickets,
then the participants will be offered a refund.

chrissy thanks for the interest. Not sure about money orders, I will ask. 858-229-3961 is the number to call for questions.

if 200 tickets are not sold and participants can can get a refund... does that mean the bike will not be given away if the goal is not reached?

From Robert on the meetup site:

"Hey Phil, long time no hear.

GP still has 27 tickets at the shop. I have the rest. If they need more I will drop more off at the shop.

The activity at the shop seems to be picking up.

If we don't sell all 200 by the 31st we will either raffle the bike for less than the 200 if we are close enough to our goal or offer a refund to those that want to opt out and then continue the raffle for those that want to remain and sell all 200.

I set an end date because I knew some people would be uncomfortable with an open ended raffle with no end date. So far most people seem ok with the auction continuing after the 31st or even just giving up their donation without the auction at all.

I need to get over to cycle gear and some of the motorcycle shops to drop off some flyers this week. If anyone wants to help I can send you a pdf to print out or give you hard copies if you want to stop by my office."

This is a worthy cause and I am interested in this raffle but I have to ask before I purchase a ticket: What are the guarantees that the raffle is not rigged? Will there be an impartial spectator to ensure that all tickets go into the hopper and the winner is drawn randomly? Will it be video recorded from beginning to end continuously, showing all purchased tickets going into the hopper and only one ticket being drawn and displayed to the camera so that all participants who can't be there in person can be sure that the drawing is fair? How will the winner be notified and how long will the winner have to respond to the notification. Will a secondary winner be chosen if the original winner does not respond within a reasonable time frame? Will I be disqualified because of my suspicious nature?

Honestly sir, there are several organizations (cantkeepmedown.org (501 non-profit org), GP motorcycles san diego, socalsupermoto, 1904photography, san diego sportbike meetup group, Nokia peeps, plus friends and families, etc) involved in this, i dont think it would be wise to rig the raffle specially with there being only one prize; and that would be hypocritical as well with regards to the cause. They will videotape the drawing and post in on youtube. I have posted the numbers to call with regards to the specifics.

Mr. ekovach, if you're in carlsbad, you can drop by GP motorcycles san diego for the drawing. Definitely join The San Diego Sportbike Meetup Group (San Diego, CA) - Meetup

Thanks for your support!

If using paypal, please do not put the word "raffle", paypal does not permit raffles, use "Xavier's Aprilia".

Thanks again.
