Va and North Riders. Shindig ride

Hey all I am getting excited for the shindig in a few weeks. Looks like I will be riding solo now :-( Brittany has to much homework.

Anybody wanna meet up and ride down together? My roomate Dan (cbr F4i) might end up deciding to come at the last minute.

My route will look like this, unless it needs to change a little bit to meet someone.

I also have to look through the older posts and figure out when I am leaving and whose floor I am crashing on.

As for floor space.... you can certainly pull up some carpet at my house. I think the couches and spare bed are spoken for.... if not.... you are welcome to one of those as well.

I will be leaving early saturday AM, or I guess I could leave Friday anytime.
I like history, but I like windy roads more.

What I was asking about history for is that a good section of that ride lines up with Civil War sites... If interested, you have plenty of things to stop and look at. Also, Macado's in Farmville is a good place to stop and get a bite to eat... he said his woman is no coming, so why not stop at a campus that is 70% female? (or used to be)

Hey guys, just a heads up in case you're not familiar with the area, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday can be BRUTAL trying to get through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel on I-64. Take it from someone who's lived here for 42 years - if you can, come in from route 58/13/460. And if you're leaving on Sunday, avoid the tunnel also.

Can be brutal is key.
I have commuted through it for the past 9 years and can reiterate it can be brutal.

However....... 664 is an alternative that will add 15 minutes to your drive if you don't wanna take the gamble of the HRBT.

So...... for those of yuo who want a way around the backup... if it happens....
Run down the Right lane on 64E. It will exit onto Woodland. Take the exit... Go Straight into the Hampton University Campus. Make the first left. Run that to the stop sign, make a left. Run to the next stop sign, make a left. You will see the turn to get back onto 64E. This is the last exit before the tunnel... at worst a 1 mile back up.

I dont have a girlfriend, shes just one of my good friends who loves to ride with me. I know better than to have a girlfriend. I am going to a school with a ridiculous amount of hot girls. Longwood scares me... I dont like it there and I didnt see much talent when i was down there last time.

Can one of you VA beach guys PM me your number for when I inevitably get lost.

Oh Dude

Bent Mountain? Hope that aint nothing like friken Broke Back Mountain I have often done Rt 211 out to Rt 11 to New Market and headed south. I do like Rt 11. Like back roads a lot and can do my best thinking there. Riding for me is a spiritual event.

Ever get into Luray or Sperryville. I am over there a lot. Often take a butt break at Luray Caverns picnic tables. Can also be found in Sperryville at the Emporium, they have a picnic table there to. LOL
