Sept Shindig food plans.

It is time to really start planning...
I have had some locals offer to help me cover expenses, but this can really be a grand time if everyone will chip in a bit.

I am thinking.... $15 a head or $20 a family will cover premium food, drinks, condiments, plates, flatware, etc....

Here is the list as promised further down in the thread!
Hondaf4iguy - $50 (used for rental of picnic area)

The following is earmarked for food and drinks
MarylandMike - $20
Dadogs - $20
McCrimmon - $20
Brevity - $20
Majorrager - $20
Declan & Hope - $40

Expenses so far....
$13ish paypal fees (they suck)
$50 shelter rental at Sandbridge
$50 1 bushel crabs (jimmy #2)

I think a prepayment would work best so I can figure out exactly how many people and how much money, and how much food, etc....

I have no problems keeping a public tally to make sure all is kept in the open and decisions can be made more as a group. However, I dont want money until we do come to some kind of consensus.

Let's do the better food. I'll chip in whether I actually make it or not and if for some reason I don't come up there, you can mail me a steak. I like mine rare.

Let the amount of money you collect determine what food you buy. If we have enough to do steak and potatoes, then that's cool. If not, burgers and dogs work for me.

Less than two weeks away.... Time to figure out what to eat....

Currently we have $100 budget for food. Several people have said they will contribute when they get here... so a little more is available.

A bushel of crabs is $50. It would feed many, but not fill you up. That is one option and give some non beach peeps a chance at fresh seafood. - Just an idea....

OK.... One week to get our crap straight....

Food - If we want to do crabs, (I do) we need to know. It is a more expensive option and I cannot justify it on two people wanting it. Also... I need to have a buddy come prepare them. I am not a fan of messing iwht the bastards till they are ready to eat.

Bubba Burgers or homemade?

Chicken breasts (marinated in Italian Dressing and Hot Sauce)?

Chips? Any preferences?
Baked beans?
Cole Slaw?
Bar-b-que?
Cola's or other drinks?
Beer? (I do not condone drinking and riding... however we are all adults - 'cept Bass)

The sooner we get some kind of consensus the bette rprepared we will be.

Keep it simple!

Bubba burgers are great and easy to cook.

Baked beans usually go over well with everyone.

Chicken breast (boneless) can be had cheap at Sams or Walmart and also easy to cook.

BBQ can get pricey but again, simple and most like it.

Chips are easy, Doritos, Sour Cream/Onion, BBQ, Fritos, Salt and Vinegar ...etc.

I'm personally not drinking (I doubt it anyways) but having a little bit available would suffice.

Water and Soda by the masses would be good as well.

Paper plates, Plastic utencils, napkins

For $15, I'd better get more than a frikkin' hamburger!

Do you think you'll have enough for the crabs and the burgers/chicken? With $100 + what people are bringing when they show up, maybe both are possible. We'll make sure you are not in the hole on this one, right folks? I'll give extra if you come up short in the $$ department.

Do it the way you, the host, want it done. We're easy. You're not sticking your neck out--we've got your back.

*Sigh* I am going to graduate college before I can legally drink.

I can put away some food, I am just going to put that out there right now.

Loving the crab idea. Cant go wrong with bubba burgers but it might be cheaper to make them at home. Chicken Boobies are delicious. I dont think we need BBQ if we have crabs burgers and chicken. Slaw and Beans are always good. I will be down there Friday night and am all about helping get ready and all that.

Awesome! Bass - you are gonna get put to work!

I will look into the crabs tonight. Several promises have gone out toward money... so the crabs will be covered with that. I just need the 'Crab-genius' to agree to come help out and cook them. Should not be a hard sell, but he live an hour away.

In my head right now.... BBQ out.

I think Bubba Burgers/ Chicken breast are the ticket, crabs would be awesome if funds allow. For the sides, whatever is easy. I probably will just drink soda/ water since I'm riding the bike.

I'm with Brev...if we go overbudget we will cover ya.
