Pisgah Nat. Forest dual sport ride next weekend.

Anyone interested? SO will be @ Biltmore for her mom's b-day. If the weather holds out, I'm going to head to the Nat. forest for the weekend.

Keep your eyes open...

FBI SEEKS HELP FROM DUALSPORT RIDER
A dual sport rider was observed on FR 1206 /Yellow Gap Road on the weekend of October 21 in the area of the Cradle of Forestry and the Pisgah National Forest. This location is just east of NC 276 and south of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The motorcyclist was seen about the time of what is now considered a dual murder of an elderly couple who parked on Yellow Gap Road for a short hike. This rider might be able to provide information that can help to solve this crime. A $10,000 reward is offered.

Keep me in the loop, James. Depending on the weather, we might come up for a day and ride.

Come on, Ned! You NEED a day off.
James, If the weather cooperates, we're coming.
What day are you leaning towards, or are you spending the weekend up there?
If all is equal, I would pick Sunday, or wear blaze orange on Saturday.

Thats odd. When I watched the first vid I was thinking that is a highway compared to most of the bike trails I have riden in WI. Here the trails are about the width of a deer trail. My brain is usually more wore out than my body from processing how to avoid the next tree, then the next, the next, the next, the ne, the, th, Ouch!

Ride Report

RidgeRunner's Dual Sport Ride

Global Warming does have its positive side-50 degree December days in the NC mountains! It was a perfect, sunny day. It only got cold in the late afternoon on top of the mountain. We were able to ride from 11-4, with only two short gas/water breaks. We stayed in the dirt/gravel the entire time, except for a short paved ride on our way back to JonasRidge. We covered Table Rock, Kessler Hwy, Mortimer/Pineola Rds and various un named "Roads to Nowhere". We even managed 2 water crossings! I was doing some praying there cos that water looked freezing. There were plenty of hunters on the sides of the roads, and I was hoping they all had good eyesight. The leaves were all down, which gave some great usually unseen views of Linville Gorge, Lake James, and Table Rock. On the negative side, visibility was often tough, constantly going in and out of the sunlight.

Make sure you invite me on your next ride, James.
I had a fantastic time and never would have gone if it hadn't been for you!
