RidgeRunner's Dual Sport Ride
Global Warming does have its positive side-50 degree December days in the NC mountains! It was a perfect, sunny day. It only got cold in the late afternoon on top of the mountain. We were able to ride from 11-4, with only two short gas/water breaks. We stayed in the dirt/gravel the entire time, except for a short paved ride on our way back to JonasRidge. We covered Table Rock, Kessler Hwy, Mortimer/Pineola Rds and various un named "Roads to Nowhere". We even managed 2 water crossings! I was doing some praying there cos that water looked freezing. There were plenty of hunters on the sides of the roads, and I was hoping they all had good eyesight. The leaves were all down, which gave some great usually unseen views of Linville Gorge, Lake James, and Table Rock. On the negative side, visibility was often tough, constantly going in and out of the sunlight.
Make sure you invite me on your next ride, James.
I had a fantastic time and never would have gone if it hadn't been for you!
