Moto Guzzi Demo Days in North Carolina

Have you ever seen a Moto Guzzi, and wondered what it's like? Rolling Italian art in one of its truest forms. Well, now you have the chance to test ride one free of charge. The same dealership that offered the Aprilia Demo Days is now bringing a semi of Moto Guzzis for test rides. All models are supposed to be on hand for demonstration. The Griso, Breva, California Classic, and even a couple of Norge's will be available for riding.

I will be there as a volunteer working behind the scenes. Stop by and say hello, but if you want to ride, bring your motorcycle endorsed drivers license, helmet, proof of insurance, and please be over 21.

June 1st & 2nd which is a Friday and Saturday. I know it's short notice, but I just got word of it myself. If you need more info or directions, PM me for details.

From my dealer:
Quote:
It was just confirmed - Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2 the Moto Guzzi demo truck will at Mid Carolina Powersports in Burlington NC. If all goes well, we will start on Friday @ about 10am and continue until about 5:30pm , Saturday we will go from 9am until 5pm - Ive been told they will have pretty much one or two of each bike, plus 3 Norges available for demo ! SO, if your in the area, please come by and try one or two out !

I've never done a demo day, so excuse the ignorance, but "proof of insurance" on what? For example, I've got liability only. Would they let me ride?

Yep, as long as you have an insurance card along with the other stuff, you can ride. There were a few people at the Aprilia demos that did not carry one. I guess it releases Moto Guzzi from a liability standpoint. I figured I should put it in for this one.

BURLINGTON, NC - May 30, 2007 - Moto Guzzi USA and Burlington's Mid Carolina
Powersports invite area enthusiasts to experience the Italian motorcycle
manufacturer's legendary line of motorcycles when the company's national
tour arrives at the dealership on Saturday, June 2. Moto Guzzi's distinctive
"Italian Eagle" logo has inspired loyalty and passion for nearly 90 years.
As the second oldest motorcycle marque in the world, Moto Guzzi not only
offers a proud history of design, technology and racing tradition, but
attracts one of the most dedicated owner communities anywhere. And, the 2007
Moto Guzzi product portfolio features the company's most advanced model
line-up ever.

Riders can schedule test rides on the same motorcycles that are currently
starring on the covers and pages of national enthusiast magazines, including
the new 2007 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 sport tourer and the Griso 1100 techno
cruiser. Riders new to the sport, or first-time buyers considering two
wheels, are also welcome. Moto Guzzi models like the easy-to-ride Breva 750
and Nevada Classic 750 are ideal options for anyone just beginning - or
returning to - the sport of motorcycling.

The Moto Guzzi mobile showroom will be open to the public from 9 am to 6 pm,
based at Burlington's exclusive Moto Guzzi dealer, Mid Carolina Powersports.
All riders with a current driver's license, appropriate motorcycle
endorsement, and riding helmet, eyewear and apparel are invited to attend.

WHAT: Moto Guzzi National Demo Tour - Central Carolina Edition

WHERE: Mid Carolina Powersports; 2290 N Church St., Burlington, NC 27217,
(336) 513-4588

WHEN: Saturday, June 2; 9 am - 6 pm

Moto Guzzi on Tour: The 2007 Model Line

Norge 1200 - Moto Guzzi's premier sport tourer is ready to ride, cross-town
or cross-country. Built to deliver superior comfort and safety, the Norge's
modern Italian styling, reliable performance and leading technology create
the ideal adventure companion. The full fairing follows the lines of the
bike for an integrated, modern design while the windshield is adjustable for
optimal aerodynamics in different riding conditions. A generous double seat
means plenty of room for a fellow traveler. The many standard features
include an Anti-lock Braking System.

Griso 1100 - The Griso's radical styling makes it the Moto Guzzi of choice
for anyone who wants power, comfort and a thoroughly individual statement.
Designed to stand out in any crowd, the Griso sizzles with style and
cutting-edge technology. From its long, low profile to advanced technical
features like a tubular frame, imposing V-twin engine, compact reactive
shaft drive swing arm, and massive exhaust and tail pipes, the Griso is
ready to rock. The bike's upright riding position and wide handlebars add
absolute control and confidence.

Breva 1100 - Moto Guzzi's entry in the Naked class combines Italian racing
heritage with the all the technology and performance required for spirited
riding. The Breva 1100 features a comfortable anatomically-molded double
seat, neatly integrated into the gas tank for a thoroughly modern, sport
appearance. The power is put to the pavement through Guzzi's patented
compact reactive drive shaft.

Breva 750 - Along with the Moto Guzzi Nevada Classic, the Breva 750 is an
excellent choice for first-time or height-challenged riders. As the smaller
sibling to the Breva 1100, the Breva 750 may give up a bit of displacement,
but it makes up for it with absolute ease of handling and ride enjoyment.
Unlike other entry levels or low seat-height choices, the Breva 750 doesn't
retain weight, hamper handling through limited steering ratios or add other
challenges. Instead, this fun-to-ride and easy-to-own Naked bike inspires
confidence.

California Vintage -Moto Guzzi honors its legendary past with this
retro-styled cruiser. The California Vintage is tailor-made to enjoy on the
open road, featuring a low seat as comfortable as an armchair, tall
windshield to tame the elements and ample saddle bags for storing the
necessities. The new 2007 California Vintage recalls the heritage of the
fully-equipped, chrome-adorned motorcycles that once patrolled the roads for
the California Highway Patrol and police departments all over the US. The
90-degree V-Twin, air cooled engine, imported from the Breva 1100, provides
solid performance

Nevada Classic 750 - This easy-to-ride entry level custom cruiser is another
excellent alternative for anyone learning to ride - or seasoned riders who
want a classic look without the high cost of other customs. Italian soul,
timeless styling, plenty of standard features and a low 30-inch seat height
make the Nevada 750 the perfect introduction to motorcycling, Moto Guzzi and
low-maintenance riding.

I do not get the insurance thing. If I did not have a street bike, only a track bike, i would not have insurance on a bike.

DO they want proof of medical insurance?

All they took from me at the Aprilia days were my policy number, and Ins. provider.

If you have an insurance card, I would guess everything is kosher. I don't make the rules, I just bend them to the point right before snapping.

The Guzzi demo will not be at interstate cycle. They cancelled, and this was why my local dealer got a last minute notice for the demo day. Bring your butts to Burlington if you want to ride one.
