Great! Idea here...
Maybe we can make an invitation on Facebook with the details. Not that I like Facebook, but enjoy the organizational aspects of it.

I dropped the shelter rental on my CC.
Food and drinks will be the main part of cost from here out.
We need to get charcoal, coolers and ice out there.

Do we do the route of sam's choice cola's, bulk burgers and hot dogs?
Do people want to chick in to get Bubba Burgers, nathan's dogs, etc...?
Does anyone considering coming have a hook up with a butcher or something????
BYO-everything?

Lots of ideas for food (and the costs sway drastically). I suggest we shoot low and see what the numbers will be and then plan accordingly.

I have a big cooler.... but it does not fit in my Civic. So, I may need your truck Simpson. However I am contemplating putting my trailer back on the road for this. It will allow me to transport more stuff if need be (and trailer a bike home if anyone has had too much to drink).

I'll chip in some bones for food costs. I like the keep-it-simple approach, food-wise. No need to go crazy, unless someone just has a wild hair. If someone wants a steak or mahi mahi or whatever, they can bring it and throw it on the grill. Otherwise, just make a simple food list like you did, have everyone chip in to cover the costs, and everyone should be happy.

Spoiler:
"The list is an absolute good. The list is life."

"What kind'a tires you runnin'?"

Burgers and dogs are fine by me. I have an SUV and a trailer. Hauling stuff won't be an issue.

FWIW, Bubba Burgers are pricey. I don't have memberships to any of the wholesale stores around here. I say take a walk through there and see what the cost are for bulk burgers, dogs and buns. I have a grille as well...Is there grilles out there? I figure there are.

Once we the attendance tally levels out and we have an idea of how many are coming we will have a better idea of what we'll need.

Or we could just have everyone attending bring a lil something for the grille, munchies and drinks

I can bring or hire some entertainment. Is there already a pole in place or do I need to rent the stage and pole?

And Mike, Don P's last night killed me today. I'm thinking just a touch of food poisoning!

It's better to have loved and lost than live with the psycho for life!

So far looking like H_ryder and I will be trying to make the trip down.Doesn't look like there would be enough time to bring the whole family since it would possibly entail taking the kids out of school. And as far as finances go for food and such, just lemme know whatever you need.

Side note: I refuse to attend if Dave is pole dancing.

Thanks Ned. No worries about hauling, between three of us, we have two trucks and two trailers.

So....
Little Island has four shelters. You can rent morning or afternoon or both. I picked the afternoon - which is our official time. Two other shelters are not rented at all. This means anyone else intending to rent, will probably take those first. If this remains the case... we can move in as soon as we want on Shelter #1.

There is a primitive charcoal grill. I think it is wabout 4 ft across and 1 foot deep, no lid. SO this will cook tons of burgers and dogs nicely. Maybe get someone to prepare a 'pan' of baked beans or something we can set on the edge of the grill to warm up as a side.

** This is as much everyone else's cook out as mine, so make suggestions of what you will want if you attend. Try to keep the as 'real suggestions' so that organizing is easier.

--Also, please keep in mind the 'park' closes as sundown, so we have the evening to plan as well. My place? Bar Hopping? another local's place that happens to have several restoration bikes? etc...

Who knows? I have heard all kinds of excuses for why it is sooooo messed up. Whatever.... fun track. Not to be confused for a parking lot near the beach.
