Well, if you hit all 3 sisters, thats pretty much a day in itself. 16 south of kerville has a fun section....Most of the roads I know are closer to me, and a lot less entertaining. 46 (east of 16) isn't bad but typically congested. That will lead you to hueco springs loop I believe (hell if I can remember) That will lead you to river road. It's far from fast (30mph tops, 20mph at the crossings) but is a nice ride still. That's considerably east of Ingram, but if you have all weekend.... I know some other roads between there and you we can certainly hit. I'll see if I can't drag my buddy Peter out on Sunday. He's been in the area a long time and is a hardcore rider. I'm certain he knows good roads.

If she liked 16 along the river, she should love river road! 0 cows to my knowledge though.

I grew up in the Kerrville area but that was before I had a bike. I've been meaning to get at 3 sisters and Medina Highway for a long time but just haven't had the time. This might be the time. I might truck the hornet down Friday from Ft Worth, but just because I gotta drive in to do some work stuff in the morning and won't be leaving until around 5PM and that drive is a long one. Let me mull it over and I might sign up as well.

Just to add. I know some good roads out of Hunt that cut North towards Junction and then back south down through Mountain Home. Some of it straight, some of it curvey. It ebbs and flows but its still some beautiful country side but it is somewhat seperate from the 3 sisters route.. I've never done the loop to Leakey on bikes from kerrvile and its been a long time since I went there in a car (tubing in Concan) but I've kind of wanted to do a route from Kerrville through Hunt, onwards to Leakey and cover all the 3 sisters area, then take the long way back by going through Vanderpool, then taking 187 south out of Vanderpool and linking up with 470 (probably FM) to cut back towards Bandera, and then take Hwy 16 North to Medina and back to Kerrville. Google maps pegs it out at around 153 miles but somehow in my head I envision it being further... Might just be my fond memories of before I moved to Dallas and driving to work or across town used 1/4 tank of gas.

Here is a Google Map route I pulled for what I was planning.

http://goo.gl/maps/4uR7X

I'm also kind of working on one that takes advantage of all the twisties and has gas stops and scenic locations (as well as food and overnight lodging) but free time is pretty tight for me right now and there is no way I can get on it by this weekend).

Wish I could make it. I haven't ridden the hill country since October 2007. That's too long.

Sorry to say so late but I am not going to be able to make it... I got a ton of work I have been trying to get done in the garage. Promised myself I would get my DS running before I take off another weekend (plus I am itching to go play in the dirt with it, lol). My apologies. I'll definitely be heading out there sometime between now and summer (fingers crossed).

Looks like theres a chance of rain in your area tomorrow. You should take 46e to 281s, to 1836e and meet me at 3009..less chance of rain over here :P

28 years and no fights sounds like you are smart enough to be quiet, lol. Glad to here you had a good ride. I sure missed out from the sounds of it. Maybe here in about another month I'll get my stuff together and roll down there. I wish I could work with my outfit and live in San Antonio or Austin. I gotta drive about 100 miles in any direction to get to a decent road and it kills me because I grew up on those roads.

Congrats on your Anniversary

East of 281. If I had to guess I would say 20 miles. Believe there is a 4 way stop at 1836 and 3009.

16.4miles...not a bad guess! I'll head your way if you'd prefer. Wouldn't mind a good days ride to really break in these tires. I only have another week or so with the black bastard (2002 I finally got back together)
