I'll check this when it gets closer. Maybe we can arrange a breakfast meet on Sunday before the show? We'll see how it pans out. I'm trying to get a couple friends to go but they don't know yet.

Ginger and I have been talking about going, it's right before her birthday and would make a nice centerpiece to a weekend getaway in Chicago. Probably will wait and look at the weather as we get closer to make our final decision since Chicago is best when it's not 5 degrees with a foot of snow.

Would be fun to get together with some fellow Wristtwisters there, let's keep this thread alive and see what happens.

I plan to attend. A pre-breakfast sounds like a plan.

I plan to die young, as late as possible.

It is being held at the Rosemont again? IF so there is surprisingly little around from what I remember. I have some coworkers that spend a good amount of time in that area. I will ask around.

Yeah, it's at the Rosemont convention center again. A ROYAL PITA to get to with all the curving around on ramps near O'Hare if you take the tollway but I guess it's better than going into the city. I know there's a McDonald's near there but I was kinda hoping for something a little better like a IHOP or Denny's or something.

Not sure if we will be able to make it or not, turns out I have a yearly board meeting scheduled that Saturday morning, would have to head up that afternoon and hit the show Sunday. Might still work out, we'll see.

Less than two weeks away now.
I found a Denny's less than a mile away on the same road.

http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...mCF2nG1c2RuQ==

If folks are interested we could set a time to meet there for breakfast then hit the show when it opens.
I'm still planning on Sunday morning.

We've decided to go to the show, extended forecast looks decent next weekend, mid 30's and partly sunny. We'll be going up Saturday afternoon, out for a nice dinner and music Saturday night, then hit the show on Sunday. We'll be staying downtown and don't know that we'll be there at the crack of 9:30 when the show opens, would be interested in meeting some people later in the day though if anyone's into it.

If folks aren't up for breakfast then we could have an impromptu Wrist Twisters Meet & Greet at a certain manufacturers display (cough, Honda, cough. What, me biased? LOL!) at say noon?

If you're going to need to stay. My recommendation would be to stay at the Sofitel at Rosemont and ask for the REXAM rate. It will save you 50%+ for a great room and place.

We can be at the Honda exhibit at noon. So what's the plan to meet up with each other, wear a white carnation in our lapels or perhaps an t-shirt?

OK, I'll be at the Denny's in my previous post for breakfast around 8:30 and then at the Honda display at noon.
I'm planning on going with my brother so I'll probly be wearing either a black Moto-X-Fox Honda Red Riders or Red/Black Honda roadracing jacket and there'll be a tall balding guy with me wearing a Triumph jacket.
It will be nice to meet some folks and put faces & names together.
For reference, this is me (Halloween pic);

I'll be looking!

To bad KTM has such a tiny little spot and they're not even in the main room. WTF?

Ok, Ginger and I will be at the Honda exhibit at noon as well. Not sure what we'll be wearing, but I'll be the tall guy with glasses and a beard with the short cute curly headed brunette, we're an easy pair to spot.

We'll have to take a group photo to post on here, I'll have my camera along taking lots of pics of the cool bikes.

Who all do we have here that's going for sure? garyb900, wisco919, Rich Jura and family, me and Gin, Ragdoll?

See you guys Sunday!

Scott

Looking forward to a weekend in Chicago. Reservations tonight at the Four Points Sheridan downtown, an afternoon of shopping and wandering around, nice dinner out at Morton's Steakhouse, followed by live blues on Rush Street, then off to the motorcycle show tomorrow...good stuff!

See you there!

Good morning!
The old thermometer says about 5 below!
It's always cold for this show. I wish they would switch the dates once and have it in the summer/fall. At least I could ride to the thing then.

See ya'll there!

I apologize, I missed everyone.

I missed everyone today. I was at the Honda booth from 11:45 to 12:20 then I went over to the snack bar and grabbed some food then came back and hung until about 1:00 the I left. Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone if you were there. I kept walking around and hanging out by the CBR1000 on the turntable. Lots of awesome bikes. The new KTM's look great. The KTM Duke seems very nice. Here's a link to my photos. If you click on the thumbnails they get bigger then you can click them again to make them full size.

I was Crushed

50 mile white out @ 25mph thru Michigan.Get to the show a little after noon
and much to my dismay no EVO 6. Plus the only copy of that new Desmo
Ducati ( besides Toms ) was at the auto show.
Guess we should have worn giant 919 posters didn't meet anyone shame.
Can you imagine the turn out if it had been 50 degrees out?
The fellow with that Vincent copper should have been arrested.... IMHO....
All in all a good time was had by all.

I had the same kind of trouble trying to meet up with TLRNate and Angela at Mid Ohio.

One thing that helps is to swap cell phone numbers ahead of time.

Missed seeing you guys too, hung around the Honda booth for awhile but didn't really know who we were looking for. We did run into 2000TJ, or actually he recognized us and introduced himself, nice to meet you Tony!

Lots of cool stuff there, seemed like a pretty big show. I'll post my pics as soon as I get them organized, many will be similar to Gary's, but can't hurt to have a different perspective.

Maybe it was a wrecked, ratted out bike that he turned into the chopper? Trying to give the guy benefit of doubt, but he could have just ruined a classic too.
