Budda On The Move

Rendezvoused with marylandmike and CKutz_GO yesterday in the little town of Chestertown, MD for an official WT Budda hand-off event. At this half-way point between our respective hornet's nests, we were unexpectedly treated to the annual re-enactment of the Chestertown Tea Party which apparently occurred there around the time of the better-known Boston version of this historical event back in the 1700's. The celebration was complete with a period two-masted sailing ship with hand-to-hand combat on its deck, booming cannon fire and chests of "British tea" being unceremoniously tossed into the harbor. We rolled into town on three '07 9ers, me from the north of the Mason-Dixon and the other guys from the south and immediately encountered crowded and in some cases, blocked-off streets. We eventually made it to our meeting point, The Fish Whistle, situated right on the water's edge where we had some great food and plenty of WT-style conversation. It was a perfect day in every respect and I was glad to see that our official mascot is now in good hands and probably looking to head west from southern Maryland at some point in the future. It was great meeting Mike and Collin and we conducted this official business in true Wrist Twisters fashion. We all thought that this location might serve as a great future meet-up point for a larger WT event. In fact, there is something else going on in Chestertown in October that may warrant some looking into.

Thanks for the hand-off Dean and it was great to meet two new Wristtwisters! I met up with Collin in Annapolis, MD just before the Bay Bridge Tunnel and we headed to Chestertown, MD on the Eastern Shore (peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean). It was a great day for a ride and even the MD highway patrol was in a good mood. Their heads turned when we passed at 75-80 MPH, but no blue lights.

We got to Chestertown and were greeted with most of the streets surrounding our meeting spot blocked off as Dean noted. A quick phone call with Dean, who had already made it and a consultation with a festival volunteer helped us roll right into the Fish Whistle. We had picked the spot just based on a mid point meeting spot, but it was great. Right on the Chester River with a nice view of boats we can't afford and awesome food. I definitely would recommend it as a good meeting spot for anyone in the area.

We had a great lunch and swapped stories and I think with a little research, Collin and Dean will find out that they are long lost relatives lol.

Todi, his friend Mihai, and myself are going to attempt and Iron Butt Ride in a couple of weeks and it should be a good opportunity to set up another hand-off to head Booda west for someone in Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, or maybe even NC or Tennessee.

Tentative Route

Absolutely redletter!

We'll do it and I don't care what you're riding. Anybody who serves our country in the military is always welcome. BTW, thank you for your service and happy Memorial Day to you, your family and every man or woman who has ever worn the uniform. God Bless America

Yup, it was a great time! beautiful weather for some riding! It was pretty neat arriving in this random town to find some kind of festival going on. At first it looked like a boat was on fire or something, then realized it was obviously some sort of festival.

The Fish Whistle was great! Can't forget the only sauce that isn't home made is the ketchup and mustard!

It was great meeting you guys. Bizarre how small the world can be, Dean and I lived on opposite ends of the same road, in the small town of Lebanon, PA.

After heading out, I split off and continued eastward to visit a friend that moved to Lewes, DE. It was great seeing him and his family again, getting to spend some time on the beach, and getting extremely sunburnt (don't trust home made sunscreen..).
Memorial day traffic was pretty rotten on my way home monday, but I stopped outside of Annapolis at a dock bar n restaurant for a break. It was pretty cool watching the locals pull up on their boats.

Glad we kept Booda moving, wish him and his WT comrades safe travels and good company!

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

Yea man. It was a great day and we had a blast. And the three red 9ers did look pretty killer in the parking lot. It was just one of those perfect days.

I think MM is holding Booda ransom for the valve shims.

Other thread went quiet as well.

I think I do still have him. I think he is locked away in one of my side cases. Who wants to meetup and get him headed west or south? I don't mind riding a few hours in your direction.
