Any riders in Louisiana?

I'm going to LA this weekend for a big highschool alumni softball tournament but I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands so I'm bringing my road bicycle to get a little exercise and I'm bringing my 919 to do a little riding. I'm going to be in Eunice, near Lafayette. Anyone around there that might be interested in riding?

I'm not exactly sure where he lives, but give Steve-o a shout...he lives down in Louisiana.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

I'm in Baton Rouge, about 45 minutes from Eunice. I been looking for a good reason to dust off the 919. Have not been riding much with all the heat and rain.

There you go that's what I'm looking for! I'm bringing my road bicycle, but I'm going to just ride it around Eunice. I sure as heck wouldn't mind heading out toward Baton Rouge on the 9'r to ride though!

Let me know what day/time looks good for you and we can make it happen. Baton Rouge is certainly not a bikers paradise, but I do know a few good places.

Okay I know I should have Saturday morning open. I have to be back in Eunice by 3PM for the next game.

Do you think there is some where we can meet somewhere
between Eunice and BR?

Okay, here is what I have come up with. Let me know if this works for you. Google maps tells me its about 139 miles round trip for you to get back to Eunice. There should be a good balance of fast sweepers (hwy 77) and slower scenic roads on this ride, and it should only take about 3 hours. If we hit it in the morning, you should have time for tea and a nap before the 3:00 game!

.....you would ride the first 40 miles or so and we would meet up in a town called Lottie. After making the loop north along the Mississippi River, then back south along False River, we would head our separate ways in another town called Livonia. DON'T speed through Krotz Springs!

There is also a slight variation to this that takes us south. Same mileage, just a faster pace and it includes a stroll down I10. Let me know if that sounds better and I'll send you that map. Basically it would be taking hwy 77 south instead of north, and it rides along the Mississippi to I10. That stretch of road is fast and fun.
