both ACH, and AFH are closed south of the Upper Big Tujunga , no way to get to 210 from there. so head South/ West from Wrightwood on HWY 2, (watch out road is still dirty from the melting snow), about 7-8 miles pass the "nuke" or (New Comb Ranch restaurant) turn right on "Upper Big Tujunga" for about 10 miles, turn left on AFH and then stay to right when you get to big Tujunga. have fun out there and be very careful, there are lots of big egos with limited skills that frequent those canyons.

Anglese forest is closed about 3 mile West of the junction with Big Tujunga, sorry about the previous posts poor description. Angeles Crest opened on 5-20 to and from Wrightwood this was the part that had been closed for the past 3-4 year due to storm damage, the new closure is due to the station fire, and it is the first 13 miles N/E of La Cresenta. Road Conditions put hwy 2 in the search window.

if you are looking to get to ACH and don't want to go through Palmdale , this is a good alternative. I ride these canyons a lot you should join me one weekend.

I did this ride this past Sunday again, I can never get tired of it. my usual play ground is the canyons around Malibu but I'm thinking of checking out Ortega hwy in two weeks time, Do ride all the way to Lake Elsinor? what is the traffic and LEO presence like on Sundays?
