2nd Annual Hillbilly Steaks Summer BBQ

Guys, I wanted to post this up so we can start to generate some interest in this. This summer has been friggin crazy, and I haven't been online nearly as much as usual. BUT, this BBQ is scheduled, and is happening. I posted a thread about it a while back http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=39993&page=1&pp=15 and wanted to get this up and going.

Right now the wife and I are moving into a brand new house, so things are crazy, but we still want to make this happen. Its going to be the weeked of September 16th. There will be good BBQ, some good riding, and possibly some cooler diving. You had to be at the first one to understand the cooler diving.

Everyone is invited, only request I have is realize we are moving into a brand new house, and "The wife" will be uber phobic about stuff getting tore up, so everyone has to behave themselves, for the most part anyways.

So c'mon ye' motorcycle riders....lets make this happen!!

You know I'm in E. If you don't want the wife freaking out, we can arrange for an alternate location.

I can't guarantee I can make it but I'm sure going to try. I have some friends in Cana, VA. that I'd like to run up and see as well as you guys.

Will this be a BYOB, and bring a dish affair, or just show up, make a general train wreck of the situation, and bail?

Hey Tim - I'm planning on riding up, still need to figure out what days to depart & return and need to get a one man tent and sleeping bag plus trying coordinate with a buddy who wants to go but is reluctant to ride that far - he might cage it with another guy or two.

Long story short I've got no idea what everyone else is planning on doing but odds are I'll ride up Friday and ride back Sunday if that's not too much of an imposition on Erick.

That is a tough one. I will have to run that by the wife. Here's the deal...

New house...+ 2 current dogs + Gbords Dog (he's a regular) + natecoop's puppy....= I'm not sure.

I'm confident that as long as the dog really does behave herself, it won't be a problem...but I really need to talk with the wife about it.

Kevin, your schedule sounds fine with me.

Your plan sounds good except I don't have a tent or sleeping bag. I do have a buddy about an hour north with a B&B I could probably crash at. Are you taking your bike or is this just a get together? If you're taking the bike and I can trailer mine then I could....ah screw it! I'll call you...

E, Well atleast she'll have someone to play with. But she comes with a kennel if need be.

dude, I want to thank Erick and then hit him up for some cash.
Thanks for giving me a great excuse to buy panniers, topcase with mounts, a new touring suit for me, a new touring suit for my wife, new helmet for her, throttle lock cruise control and who knows what else in the next three weeks. I might be broke but at least I'll eat well!

Would anyone that is going, be interested in a short tubing trip on Sat.? We would leave Ericks around 10:30am and return around 3:00pm. Although Erick can't make it, we talked about it and it should be a great time for whoever goes.

The tubing is great, you just have to be careful that you don't drink 24 beers in the 3 hour trip. Believe me, it can be done. Gbord and I and a few others have gotten so damn drunk on that river before we could barely climb off our tubes to get out. It'll make for a long long night!!
