2007 Wrist Twisters Shin Dig Announcement

The 2007 Wrist Twisters "Shin Dig" will be held November 17 at scenic JoMoCo in Tampa, FL.

The day will include riding (which inevitably ends up racing) dirt bikes, enjoying the company of friends, dining picnic style dinner and gathering around the campfire with friends into the wee hours.
Don't be the first person to doze off. Sneaky Steve will "get ya"!

All are invited to attend, please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

There will be dirt bike racing, food, campfire and lots of great camaraderie.
Come meet your Wrist Twisters brothers & sisters in a relaxed fun outdoor party.

Dry camping facilities are available on-site for those who wish to rough it.
Nearby hotels can be found in Brandon, FL.

by the way, those of you who attended last year may remember riding/racing the oval circuit? Very pleased to tell you that we've become much better at designing tracks and this year will resemble a roadcourse, except it'll be in the dirt! Please, no bikes bigger than something like a CRF230F if you're running knobby tires..

so I took a drive out to the property last night. Those of you who were there last year know the layout so this will be a little easier to envision.

About a month (or so) ago I cut the western and southern sections, took all day. The western section is where the house will someday stand and the southern section was toward the barn. The pasture grass in those areas is now over 3' tall. Substantial rainfall has produced remarkable growth.
Other sections, specifically bordering the neighbors property lines have growth over 7' tall, I can only hope it remains dense year round because it's much nicer to look at overgrown weeds than the neighbors.

The end result is I'll be out there cutting again over the first weekend in September. This should allow time for the grass to grow back and be cut just before the shindig. Long story short, the track will be in excellent condition and if you're planning on riding a dirtbike it will be near perfect.

Here's a better idea. Sneak over there in the middle of the night and cut a hole in your fence to allow a "few" of them bovine creatures onto your property. They will munch down the grass and weeds to proper AMA required outdoor Moto-X standards. A guy was in the office yesterday and he said you qualify for a Florida Greenbelt tax reduction if you have cows, pine trees, or citrus trees on your property. We can just ride around the instead of riding around the safety cones. (Red X's are Poop Smilies, see below)

Just an idea?

tried that already with goats. they just angered me and pooped everywhere. But after receiving the recent tax estimate I'm considering bringing in any animal that'll reduce taxes.

also, I forgot to mention this earlier. I've reclaimed some plywood from other projects and am looking at implementing a few gravity defying inclinations.

AHEAM, I am no longer an Illigal Alien you pig molester so I am off the hook, on the other hand, we can use that other guy we were thinking on throwing onto the fire pit to cut said grass?

Kev, 1000RRholigan might be onto something here, why don't you have a talk with the owner of the bull or cows and allow him to take his bovines for a little pasture grazing? it might come free and you might get free fertilize while you're at it!

The have a great day part was nice.

I don't think I'll be able to make it this year. The youngest is a sophomore and it looks like he'll be a starting linebacker and tailback for his football team. There's an away game that Friday night, so I don't think I'd be up to the haul come Saturday/Sunday.

But who knows. I've been known to ride for BBQ.

We are as low on vacation as you and no way we can make back to back trips like that.

Whole family (Sister from Cali and 2 kids plus Sister from Az and 2 kids plus all SOs) meeting at my Dads.

But we would love to. With Skybus maybe we need a quick trip in your woods.

no more farm animals allowed on the land for as long as we ride there. I learned my lesson with the goats, horses & sheep earlier this year. They don't eat enough to do any good and just poop everywhere.

Would still love to make this happen some how. We will be in Florida that Monday. We had to make our flights before tickets went up any more and no date had been set.

If it is possible at all I will se but unlikely.
