Here's what the owner of CPR FAB, Chris Parker, had to say when I emailed him about the Rottweiler system:

The system opens up the intake so it “Barks” a bit louder. I love the sound. It’s perfect and how we came up with the name “Rottweiler”. Cruising is like stock. Open it up and it roars nicely. Again, I love it and the power gains are amazing and make the bike so much more fun. The only other is the re map part. Not a big deal but not exactly plug and play. Ultimately, you will love it.

I started the install tonight...



Body work and tank came off...



Exposing the stock airbox...





Top half of airbox removed...



Throttle body stacks twist off allowing air filter to be removed and exposing throttle bodies...



That's as far as I got tonight, next up will be removing the throttle body assemblies, then taking out the secondary butterflies, shafts and actuator motors, followed by removing the SAS system and installing block off plates. Then the bottom of the stock airbox comes out and the new induction system is installed. Going to do an oil change while it's all apart too, then reassembly and remapping with TuneECU. I've already installed O2 eliminators, which greatly helped reduce the Duke's inherent throttle snatchiness. Also got rid of the carbon canister, after the above mods the SD will be completely desmogged. *for off road use only*

TuneECU cable and SAS block off kit, similar to the 919's PAIR block off plates...



For those of you not familiar with TuneECU, it's a free tuning software that's compatible with KTM, Triumph, Aprilia and Benelli, lets you completely customize all the settings in your ECU and load custom maps: Overview

talk about opening her up! from that lil snorkel to fully open.. jezus! where does the MAP and IAT sensors go?

and god damn at those power gains! and thats without an exhaust and map!

The sensors mount to the bottom plate of the Rottweiler system, you can just see them poking through in that second picture from the top with the open throttle body stacks. Yep, 10% gains across the board without any other mods, check out the dyno chart...



Should see significantly more with my set up, the Apex pipes alone added major punch...

2008 US spec Super Duke
Rottweiler Air Intake System
SAS removed
2nd throttle motor, TPS, throttle plates & shafts removed
FMF Apex Slip ons
O2 sensor eliminators

I'll be using a map that was made for a Motohooligan airbox with everything thing else the same as mine for my base, then customizing it as necessary. I'll eventually get it dyno tuned when the stock Pirellis are almost worn out, but don't want to waste a set of tires until then.

Shaughnessy and I finished up the airbox installation last night...

Throttle bodies removed...





Secondary butterflies, shafts and motors removed...



SAS system removed and blockoff plates installed...





Airbox base plate and filter unit installed...





My professional tuner at work...



TuneECU screen on laptop, pretty fucking cool!



We struggled finding an appropriate map for my specific set up, tried three different ones, all provided great power, ran very strong, but were jerky at low rpm. I'm working on finding a better suited map that balances out mid and high end power with low end smoothness.

Only took a few short test rides as it was fairly late by the time we got done, the system makes great air sucking noise and roars at full throttle, the power increase was quite noticeable, now it's just a matter of fine tuning it to find the best compromise of power and rideability.

By the way....the Superduke has been on my wish list for quite some time now. Maybe someday.....

got a motoholigan airbox on mine. how do they compare to the rottweiler intake. did you have fun putting the bolts in SAS block off plate on the front cylinder?

Bolts were a bitch, but with my friend's help we got it done. Are you running a TuneECU map with your Motohooligan box?

I've got a powercommander pc3 with the O2s eliminated. hard to find someone around here who uses tune ecu. I also have FMF apexes with no DB killers. wanted to remove the 2nd butterflies but would like to have them turned off with tune ecu.

Tweaked it some more on Saturday, combined a couple of TuneECU maps and have it running pretty good now. Was a cold wet day so only got a short test ride in, but much smoother at low rpms and still strong at mid and top end, quite pleased with the progress. Also moved the crankcase breather out of the intake and installed a small breather filter...





Removing the stock airbox opened up SO much room, can see the throttle bodies now...





I weighed all the emission crap and the old airbox, lost 10 lbs of dead weight!

Installed a Ballistic Performance litium battery last night, all of 1.7lbs vs the 7lb stock battery! Gave me plenty of room to install a battery tender lead, the stock battery completely filled the battery box and there was no room for anything else, now I can also have a power outlet which will come in handy on trips for phone charging and such. Should be down around 370lbs dry weight now after losing the stock exhaust and cat, stock airbox and smog crap, and lighter carbon fiber parts along with the super light battery.

I noticed that you have rubber tubing in where the secondary shafts used to be.
Did you plug the hole in the middle of the black tubing?
If not you will have trouble with tuning.
I used a self tapping screw in mine.

Those are rubber caps, so the end that's stuck into the throttle body is closed.

Ok no worries Just might be safer to put a screw into the outside so they don't get sucked in.
I have the MH air box on mine go's good
