Sv1000

After 22 years with my GS1100E, I finally broke down and bought another bike, an '03 SV1000. It's got a couple of goodies on it already, Yosh RS-3 cans, modified airbox, TRE mod, and a Power Commander III. Being winter, I haven't gotten much time on it yet, but it feels different than the old GS.

I would imagine it would be night and day.

I think droping the SV1K naked was a big mistake. I know sales were slow but it just needed some time to pick up steam.

If they offered that bike when I was shopping for my 919 I would have got the SV instead. Great find!

Amen to that. I'd love to have a big naked twin. Don't get me wrong, I love my 919, but twins man!

Ragdoll, Yeah I still have the GS, as a matter of fact I'm riding it tomarrow for a Polar Bear ride as the little S model fairing is more windbreak than the SV's headlight. I am looking to sell it though, not enough garage space for both of them.

A buddy of mine has an SV1K and loves it. We did a track day together last fall.

Rode the SV in yesterdays Polar Bear ride, first real ride with it for me. Yeah, the race baffles in the RS-3 cans do sound good. Against all the 4 cylinder bikes it was quite noticable. Other than a bad fogging problem with my glasses, it was fun doing a high speed run down on the flats!
