Seems Bridgestone is worried about their tyres not going the distance - the track has been re-surfaced, and may be shredding them...

It's going to make for a very interesting race. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this will be on the riders and the crews to get the bikes both set up perfectly. I also wonder what kind of excitement there may be during the bike changes. I'm actually looking forward to it.

One is not allowed more than 14 laps on bike 1 with rear tire 1.
There are only 26 laps.
So all riders will have to be pitting on lap 13 or 14.
A special paint line is going on the track after the pit exit, to enforce a "this race only" extended track re-entry line to keep the re-entering bikes away from the fast line towards T 1.
It's insane.
Far better would be to a SuperBike style two race format, but with only enough time in between for wheel changing and no other changes allowed, and full fuel load at start of race 1.
Best would be tires that lasted the distance.
It also sounds as though some of the Moto2 bikes were being run with pressures below the Bridgestone stated limit.

Sounds like the rear view camera would come in handy for that race... +1 on merging traffic portion to be insane
