Wanna Race?

Anyone? The owners of my local bike shop race in this series, and I thought it was an interesting thought for those that have invested in mini's lately. They both race klx110's, and a KX80. Looks like a load of fun for alot less than traditional track days.

As if anything we do in our chosen hobby isn't considered dangerous. I have run with these guys behind their shop on the 110 and the 80, and I can see the addictive power of these little cc machines. Less than half the cost of a trackday as for materials and replacements are even cheaper. The gear is all the same, but it is something I am entertaining for later. There is just something to these small CC machines that puts a grin on my face everytime I twist the throttle. Don't get me wrong, I had mucho fun on the track with my 600RR, but this is a different type of fun. I just hate to miss out on trying new challenges.

Edit: I've heard leapfrogging fire hydrants can be dangerous too.

Where I'm from in Massachusetts and the Northeast. Men never put P-Town and spanking in the same sentence! Well, unless you are that way! Not that there is nothing wrong with that.

Is that the P-Town in SE VA? Where is the go-cart track at? I didn't know they had one. Is it fairly new? I was born in Portsmouth, moved to Suffolk (13 years), back to Portsmouth (5 years), to Va Beach (1 1/2 years), to Portsmouth (6 years), to NC (4 years) and now to TX (1/2 year).

Sicko's!

scgstuff, that's the P-Town I was talking about. Anything involving drugs, hookers, etc., and yes... even an indoor karting track. Can't remember the name of their web site but it' a BLAST. Karts do about 40 mph and there are dudes with flags, etc. They even post your laps times on an in house monitor for all to see. Spent a full day there and came home pretty banged up...LOL.

And no, the karts don't turn any better if you drop your head to the inside of the steering wheel. Had to break that habit...hahaha.

Shawn,
THat is the one. I have yet to show up to race, but I believe it is near midtown. I am an Olde Towne guy when I head out there.

The Deck, Beir Garden and Baron's pub are the favorites.

Focus man, focus... this is a thread jack to promot Karting.

heres the web site! http://ports.americanindoorkarting.com/

James, you and F4I dude will have way more fun on these than those little scooters your riding lately. Plus Mike can't fall too far seeing how your arse is an inch of the ground. He may make a loud bang noise going into the wall though!

That's awsome. Next time I come visit my parents (maybe my kids spring break) maybe we could get some people together and race!! That looks like a ton of fun!

F4I, have you ever taken a cruise on the Carrie B? Don't know if it is still around, but I was a deckhand on the ferry boats to Waterside (I know they are still there) and the Carrie B when I was in high school. That was always a cool thing to do when we had people there from out of town.

I have not seen the Carrie B steam in a while. I did ride on her when I was a kid for the "Harbour Tour."

As for the commuter ferry, I will take that from time to time. But i would rather stay in P-town now than Norfolk. It is a little ruffer on the Portsmouth side, but I enjoy it a bit more.

Not after your doing 40mph straight towards a concrete pylon and can snap the kart 90 degress off into the sunset... 40mph in a concrete building with other dudes doing the same is no joke!

I'm down, you busy people pick a date and I'll be there! You might want to bring your own helmet and gloves so you can look cool. You know, just for the "bling of it."
