Two races to go...

Will the other Honda guys aid or hinder Nicky's chances for the World Championship?

alledgedly, the clutch woes are a thing of the past (depending what and where you read this), Nicky has never done good at Estoril but he has never been this consistant either.

On the other hand, Rossi has won many a races here in Estoril but they have never been at the end of a season and many of them guys have nothing to loose and a lot to gain by putting in a good race.

Thoughts... nail bitting commences since today, don't know why!

You better believe I'll be putting Nicky in my #1 spot for the pool!!!

Reading HRC's press release leads me to believe that there won't be any machine "issues" for him over these last two race weekends.

I hope...

If history repeats itself the upcoming race doesn't bode well for Nicky. Injured one year and rain last year. If Honda puts a bike under him that has "issues" then I fear all is lost for him. I bet there will be some clutch cases busted open between practices, qualifying, warmup and the race. I just hope there's some spare parts too.

Precisely why I said "Depending what/where you read it" as far as I know, they worked on the clutch on the Motegi test but Nicky wasn't satisfied with it 100%, then there is an HRC meeting with Nicky and a press release where they say they will do all I can to help win the rider's Championship as well but nothing to the fact that the "Clutch Problems" is a thing of the past.

I am hopeful but I can't pick Nicky to win on this track (clutch fixed or even if he's on Dani's bike) just because it is not a track where he has gone well before. Now, if it indeed does rain, than... that's a whole 'nother story.

I don't care how good Rossi is on the wet, I would bet money that Nicky would kick Vale's ass on a wet race this year. Let me rephrase, when I mean wet, I don't mean damp track or a few sprinkles here and there, I mean a full blown wet race with rain all over the track and full wets, not intermidiates.

Edit: Well... that is that!

Team Orders are a can of worms. Look at Schumi's win from a few years ago when Ferrari ordered Barichello to stand down and give a win to Schumi. They came under a lot of criticism for that. Different sport but similar politics.

I'd be disappointed if Honda had given Team Orders to Pedrosa to block or back off. Nicky needs to WIN this to silence a few critics and justify 2 more years. Don't get me wrong, I root for Nicky but smile or no smile he can't go down the Biaggi Road and throw a equipment tantrum.

Can he win it?? Hopeful but have my doubts and am not placing any bets.

Ummm. I dont think he has but we all know they exist. Biaggi is a big whinny pu$$y but the kid has taken what he's been given and performed with it. Now I have read he would prefer to have not ridden the development bike... and that was like 8 or so races into the season!

You do have to give Hayden props somehow... Gibbers, Biaggi nor Barros were able to do anything when they were given that task. It doesn't mean much in the eyes of the fans but it has to count for something
