TD#3 Summit Main, here is come...

Ok, so its a ways out, but on 600rr.net wolley said he's gonna be there, and a n00b. So I'm doing backflips now.
So sept 14, summit main, NESBA, no doubt.
Still B group. Still 777, still on the 1000RR.

So who's gonna be there, easy, mike, derek, simpson, anyone..????

Any tips? Has anyone been there since they repaired it last month or whatever, how's it look.

I can't believe it almost august already. Hell I need lottery ends so I can do a trackday every weekend.

Have fun man!
I will not be able to head out there.
I think I have decided to steer clear of the track as much as possible.

Well your sig says it all man. I've been doing a pretty good job resisting the temptation to sell my bimmer for a pickup truck.
That's easy to do too, since every drive puts a smile on my face.

Expensive it is, that's why me and my partner took august off. Then sept we hit it, then one more before the end of the season.
Tax return time we plan on blowing out most of the dates, then we just have to do gas, tires and stuff.
I don't know how u guys afford to do more than 1 a month, or 1 every month. That stuff is rough and other things begin to feel the effects.

Why I love B group.
I'm sitting here think of all the stuff I can work on at my lil slow pace, and not have to worry about holding up everyone. Depending on traffic, I can practice my form at a creep almost, that's if we end up with some slow mofos again. The only hard parts, are to not get caught up in hauling ass and forget to practise my trash. AND, not being able to make those sweet mid corner passes on those slow guys on 1000s. Oh wait, snap, I'm one of those guys, I wonder how many guys have followed me into the corner like, move it slow ass?
Hard to tell, as once I'm exiting they're usally a few lengths behind me. Oh well, we'll find out once I get bumped.
Then when the afternoon rolls around, I just find a cr, and follow him and shave those seconds off. Tssk tsk. Yessur.
I love it. I'm aming to make "I" grp by the end of the season or 1st thing next season. Hell, from what they say I already have the pace. So once I feel like I'm doing it right, ill go seek the bump.

Well... you should see about a bump as soon as possible. You have the experience of a couple of days now. If a CR says you are ready, he knows more than you. Move up and be prepared to get schooled.

But with the schooling comes the learning.

I dunno, mike, I'm still adjusting my form from that Toni Elias looking crossed up thing I used to do to a more rossi looking form. Plus I'm really loving the fact that I'm one of the faster guys in B group. I dunno, if I'm feeling main, and I'm feeling like I'm where I want to be, I may try to get it at this next one.

You're the 2nd person to say that to me, that I shouldn't wait, and both of you are track vets, te other dude still rides too.
I dunno, I'll see how I feel at main. I might try to get it.

You are not Rossi and you are not Elias... You need to develop the Snickers Form!

Sandbagging is good for confidence but bad for the learning curve.
You can only learn what you figure out on your own in the slow group.
In the intermediate group almost everyone will have something to teach you if you watch. Faster guys brake deeper and harder. You will gain confidence you and your bike can do it because you will see some buy on an SV 650 do it. You will run in a little deeper, but still get passed over and over entering the corner. So you realize you can go even deeper.......

Then once you hit your plateau of breaking, you will see guys picking up the throttle sooner. And then you will learn to listen for it. See where they pick it up and you can slowly attempt to pict up some speed earlier in the corner.

Find guys one to two seconds faster. Ask them to wait for you when gridding up so you can follow. They will be flattered you asked and you will get an opportunity to find someone marginally better to learn from with out getting discouraged.

You cannot get this education in the beginner group.

Summit Main will be "intersting" at the very least.

The pavement there is pretty much trashed. It will force you to alter your lines in several key corners. Nesba may even cone some areas off.

The pavement is coming apart and creating loose gravel type areas as the day progresses. Summit has tried to repair the area a couple times this year with very little sucess.

It's rideable, just be ready for alot of "movement" from that 1000rr of yours.

yeah, ive seen a few videos with the cones on turn 7 and stuff.
on that particular weekend the guys said apart from the cones altering lines, it was decent. i just hope its not completely shot by the time my date rolls around or that its been repaired again.

^ dude seriously, your probabaly closer to more tracks than I am. Pocono, beaver run, aren't they both in PA.
Start acquiring gear now if you haven't already, and maybe be next season you'll be ready to roll.
Then finding a buddy to roll with shouldn't be too hard. I made excuses for 2 years straight, now I'm doing it and I'm here to tell you, I shouldve started waaay long ago.

Speaking of excuses, I dunnoi what's up with Carlos, I'm getting tired of begging mofos to try something I know they'll love. I almost feel like a drug pusher, I guess.
As I said to Ira on Friday, you can lead em there, but you can't make em drink.

Hahha, yeah don't forget your umbrella, and your pumps. Lol.

Naw, we're going on the 14th. I know the 13th has been booked out for some time now, but a 3rd guy we ride with just paid like friday for the 14th, so maybe its just your group that's filled up.

I bought a XT mini, scored it for $70 brand new off 600 dot net.

My partner and I are eyeing nov 1st and 2nd for NJMP, but he's waiting on some things to clear before we commit to those dates.

Well it seems my next trackday I get to meet a lot of faces behind the screen names. There are like 3 or 4 guys from 600 dot net running that day, as well as 2 others from 1000 dot net....

I'll pray for good weather and good surface. Supposedly the paving crew hit the track wednesday, that's all I've heard so far.

i heard that too.

about gettting bumped, maybe you already saw this on the nesba forum but here are two responses from someone else who asked about it:

Hi Dave: Welcome to Nesba. I would not pursue nor ask for a Bump. When you can smoothly and effortlessly move through whatever group your in at a greater speed the CR's will approach you for a bump. Mastery without effort will make you one with the Zen Buddhist principles espoused by the Nesba elders. Enjoy where you are at and focus on the process. View the "glut of slower guys and gals" as learning opportunities. When you have mastered whatever group you are in you will be able to pass in that group at will and without effort. You will then be ready for the bump. Best wishes.
___________________________

I thought I was ready for the bump way before I actually was...frustration with slower gaggles, screamin' parkers, whatever. One day, I found myself actually looking forward to these opportunities for what they were - chances to ride effortlessly around all those hazards within the rules of the group, and then the CR's noticed. It will generally be explained at the rider's meeting exactly how to go about seeking the bump. Many have been disappointed by the CR's comments & criticism, though. Go ahead - Search for "Getting a Bump."

Like alot of things in life, it will come to you when you stop hunting it...

LOL! I am responsible!

I still stand by what I have said about Snik and moving up. He was approached about moving up already and was reluctant. SO a CR has already thought he was ready.

As for the nesba responoses... I agree that someone who says they need to bump up because the the slow group is in my way. But Snik is just enjoying being the big fish in the little pond right now.

Congrats on the bump. I'm thinking about it too; too many slow riders in the novice group is taking the fun out, especially in the Omega at WSIR where passing is not allowed with TrackXperience.

Looking forward to your report and pics.

i ran off the track at T5 once, this guy on a R1 was annoying me, i had more corner entry speed, but he pulled out sooner, and so i was having a bit of trouble passing him so i said fukit so i passed his ass on the outside as soon as he passed the apex, and got to T5 and i guess had a brain fart, and ran stright off... turned around and got back on and caught back up to the CR and the dude he was working with...
