Stoner at Abu Dhabi

Just watching coverage of the Australian V8 Supercar events at Abu Dhabi, there this weekend as part of the F1 support circus. Cameras just did a quick cross to the Vodafone team garage, where Casey Stoner is hanging out...how soon will he be getting some seat time?

Garage
I was there in 2010. Neat place. The amount of construction going on there is astounding.

In Australia, V8 supercars are the most popular racing, our two most popular sedans against each other, kind of like the popularity of NASCAR over your side of the pond. IMHO I think it's all a bit bogan, and lacks the class and sexy umbrella girls of motogp and F1. Challenging?? Maybe more exciting than what moto1 has become, but a lot less money in it and only in Australia pretty much. I think he just wants to stay at home with his hot missus.

Abu Dhabi.

Yes, they take the series off-shore for a couple of races to promote interest. It's a bit like the NFL playing a game in London (England). They race one over here in NZ, just to keep us happy, and to stop too many of us jumping over to their island.

I think they are even considering a race at the COTA in Texas.

They took the whole show to China one year, too, I think - raced on the F1 track, but not while F1 was there.
