Phillip Island this weekend

I have attached both the Local Time schedule .pdf from Phillip Island's website and a conversion to Eastern Standard Time here in the states. I'm pretty sure that my conversion is correct, but don't yell at me if I'm wrong.

You should be able to watch all of the Saturday and Sunday events (Friday and Saturday evenings here) live on WorldSBK.com. I do not believe they broadcast the practice and qualifying sessions from Friday but I will be checking the website Thursday evening just in case. The Friday stuff is usually in the middle of the night before the Friday work day so I never even bother trying to check or else I wouldn't make it into work. This weekend being in Australia the time difference is big enough to make it all easily viewable without even messing with sleep times.

A little while before each event the large picture in the center of the website's homepage will change to read "Watch _______ Live Now" or something to that effect. You will then click on that image and the website will launch another window that will contain a little streaming Windows Media Player viewer.

It's small but you can right click on the video and there should be a zoom - full screen option there. The video quality isn't the best, but it's free, live and there are no commercials! The audio is quite good when I output from my laptop to my stereo (it's a little quiet and rough out of the laptop's speakers). Those with external speakers connected should be all set.

If you miss the races live, you will have to wait for SPEED to broadcast them. I looked at my guide for Sunday and they are only showing the 1st Superbike race at like 5pm EST if I remember correctly. I'm guessing you'll have to wait until Tuesday for race 2 and the Supersport race though I don't feel like looking that up since I'll be watching it live and ignoring SPEED channel altogether. I believe after SPEED has shown the races (or perhaps just a couple days later) you can then access the races on demand on the WorldSBK website.

Note: These instructions are based on the way things were last year! I presume that since the website hasn't had any major changes everything will be just the same. I apologize if it isn't.

HAPPY VIEWING!!!!!!!

I think what I'm looking forward to most is the sound. I can't wait to hear all the different engine noises together in anger flying past the cameras!

I did screw up one time. The SPEED broadcast for the 1st Superbike race is 4pm Eastern on Sunday, not 5pm. But that doesn't matter to me because I'll be watching it at 8pm Saturday night! Only 7 more hours until we start seeing who's fast...

Just wait until tomorrow evening. Like I said, I don't think they broadcast the Friday practices. There is live timing updated every 30 seconds going on right now though.

Edit: Spies just jumped into the lead on the time sheet!

Here's something I found on another site, it seems to be LEGAL, I have not tested yet because I'll be doing it when I get home.

http://www.myp2p.eu/

Here's the Beginners guide with the recommended software and clients to download.

http://www.myp2p.eu/guide.php?part=software

Perhaps this should be STICKED by a mod for all to see?

If might check that out if WorldSBK.com doesn't come through. Maybe I might try that out to avoid paying MotoGP.com too. I'm not a big fan of adding streaming programs to my computer. I have no idea what I'm agreeing to and letting them take off of mine. It took a while for me to be okay with putting bitTorrent on it. Hell, I didn't even install the Silverlight player from NBC during the Olympics.

It's now the top 20 within 1 second in Superbike at the end of Saturday morning practice/qualifying! 6 of the 7 manufacturers in the top 10! Do you think the Flamini brothers have it figured out?

Ok, it's looking like they may have eliminated the US from this option this year. I won't be positive about this until tomorrow night though so we'll see.

Now, I'm currently watching the OnDemand broadcast of Superpole by using this program, Invisible IP Map. It's a 3 day trial but it's working right now. Apparently I've got it telling WorldSBK.com that I'm from France and therefore it's allowing me to watch. When I turn off the program I get the "Not allowed" video. Not sure how much it costs, but it might be worth it to get around geoblocking.

MotoGP. . .eh.
(Though a MotoGP faithful, WSBK is exciting as %$(@!! Especially with Spies as a rookie messing things up for the experts.)

WSBK is definitely the series to watch this year.

CMulford/RC90 I had the same fate as you guys

I Dogpiled "Free IP blocker" and got quite a few leads but was chicken to d/l one b/c I am a big pussy.

If you guys think one of these is safe, or find a free one that willl work, lemme know.

So Spies got pole......then Biaggi? That was a bigger surprise if you ask me. Looks like lotsa guys have good race pace.

Lets see if Benny can get this off on the right fooot!

I'm out of breath and all I was doing was watching! All 3 races were great. I'm so happy the new season has started.

Avoid seeing the results, catch the first race on Speed this afternoon and then set your DVR's, VCR's or just go home sick Tuesday afternoon to watch Speed. It's worth it!

It appears as though SBK.tv has taken North America off the list of places able to watch the live or same day on demand races. There are ways around it but I haven't found one yet that I'm entirely comfortable with. I will most definitely post up when I have.

Yeah, unfortunately it is normal. Speed likes being a prick and showing the first race as a teaser and making you record the other races on Tuesday. They did it a number of times last year and they don't seem to understand how much better they could be.

Oh, I'd forgot to mention, if you use a progressive player (like the one in the link) with USB capabilities, you can watch the race from the comfort of your Big Screen TV and w/o the hassle of streamlining from the internet.

Move along now... lots to see here!
