NJ Motorsports Park

Every time I mention this new place to some random fellow enthusiast, I get "I heard they're not going to be motorcycle friendly". My gut instinct was that they'll do all they can to make as much money as they can. It's all about the dollar I thought.
There was an email link on the homepage so just for the hell of it I asked if they're going to be open to clubs such as Nesba or Teampromotion for motorcycle track days and got this response:

Trent,

Yes, and we will release our schedule next month!

Thank you,

Joe Volpe
NJMP Director of Motorsports Activities

Don't sweat it bro, Lee and all involved are motorcycle enthusiasts.......don't be surprised to see TPM call it their new "home track"

I think we are gonna have something real special!!!

Finally a new track in the Northeast. I have been hearing rumors for a while baout this place. From what I have heard Glenn has been involved in some consulting on the track layout for bikes. I wouldn't be suprised if Pocono got less days and NJMP gets alot of those dates. Maybe this will make see the need to repave the Pocono infield and give us more run off

I'm running out of patience.....the black ice this morning didn't help much either.

Maybe I'll go sit on one of the bikes tonight in the garage and make <<brrroooom>> <<brrrroooom>> noises

I only get a few minutes at a time. Tough to make progress that way but I got the upper fairing & tail on. Still looking for a scratch-n-dent tank on evilbay.

Thanks Joe.
If if makes you feel any better, I just got a black fuel tank.

The tail fits like crap. No wonder it's cracked (separate from the crash damage). There's interference with the mounting point for the oem rear seat latch. Garbage design.
I might just cut the damn glass where the interference is and allow the mounting point to protrude through so the tail will sit flat. If I'd paid real money for it I'd be angry.

ok, the "new look" website is up over at New Jersey Motorsports Park

guardrails are going up fast...
shadetree garages are closed in and have doors...
main buildings have steel...
local hotels are cranking along...
fiber optic cable is being run all over the track (trying to get more detail on this from inside source)

there's a video on the home page showing 1 mile of the Lightning Course (1st layer of tarmac down)...

the video mentions folks just camping out on the hill overlooking the activity, lawnchairs setup, coolers...not that i would know
