Nicky 6th Fastest at Catalunya after FP1...

Is he ON or just a fluke?

My TVants P2P client is on the fritz (sp?) and has not wanted to even start the last couple of tries... dammit all to hell!

Even if just a fluke, I am happy and glad for the kid, this gotta boost his confidence a bit. I did read that they will be testing after the races so it will help him even more.

I am hoping he can hang with the big boys for the race and be there at the end. Hell, a top 5 finishes would do wonders for him and his team. Gloomy at best but I can, at least, hope!

There's definitely a problem with that bike, it's somewhere between the footpegs and the clipons.

Good to see that the changes to the bike are working well. From the sounds of it handles like a Mach III very unstable but fast. At least their listening to Nicky. Come on Melandri has been near top ten on Kawi with no new parts it can't all be the rider on the Ducati. Unless your name is Stoner than you can ride the piss out of it.

I rode up to his front gate at lunch. Didn't look like anybody was home.

I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm.....I'd settle for 9th or better. It looks like he'll be there.....this weekend.

Earl was probably down at the used car lot turning back odometers.

Nope. The lot closed a few years ago when they found out Earl's partner was dealing drugs or something like that.

Frustrating to watch him struggle. Can't imagine what he is going through. Getting to see that win at Laguna will always be a great memory. Several of us on here held our breath I think every lap.

I said this on another forum before the year started. Nicky will not finish in the top 5 at any race this year.

I personally do not think he has the top level talent like Stoner, Rossi, Pedrosa, Lorenzo to be there week in and week out. I like the guy but liking him and thinking he has what it takes are 2 different things.

Personally I like to see him go to WSBK back on a SuperBike where is skill set and size would be better suited.

I dont know what it is...

I read they changed everything but the grips on the bike before the weekend and it showed promise.

I do think his size isn't helping him, he is one of the larger riders out there, and the bigger bikes seemed to fit him better. BUT - Rossi is on the larger end of the rider size spectrum too. So that shoots the theory down a bit as he seems to be carrying on just fine in the smaller bikes.

WSBK would be better than 12th place finishes!

It kills me to not even see him ride during the telecasts!

I LOVE Tig Bitties!
