10 Extra Bonus points

Wild Card rider, Spies:

10 extra bonus points will be awarded. You must pick the finishing position for Ben Spies.

Example: Spies to finish 8th. If Spies finishes 8th you get 10 points.

I hope all players see this post but just in case someone misses it, he will automatically get Spies qualifying pole position. Any questions?

Ummm GP bikes are LOUD!

WOW - Qualifying was awesome... the rain held off and it was 95 and HOT! PERFECT

If it rains - which its suppose to... but the winds MAY keep it away much like today - the order will be all jacked up! Vermuphlem will be much better if it rains - Friday he ran real nice in the pouring rain.

Nicky ran stronger than he qualified today... .he consistently was the low time to beat and then Rossi put the hammer down. Stoner dropped 1 decent lap and other than that.... not much. De Puniet - same as Nicky... consitent low times.

LASTLY... I think I have some good pics to share. Had a great vanatge point for the Qualifying today and with the warmer temps - the umbrella girls were out in the skimpy outfits.... made me hungry! Thirsty too - a few too many Fosters King cans.. just a few. Yesterday I drank so much beer that I just couldnt do it anymore. I wasnt even drunk - just completely filled up on beer. Tonight... its GIN! Lets do the job right.

If some of you didnt get a phone call from me so you could hear them,.... tomorrow I might get to you. The Suzukis are the sickest sounding bike... just insane... its almost scary. Today I snuck into the Ducati VIP viewing area just by turn 2/3/4? right behind the Ducati tents... from there you are at the very end of pit road and the bikes roll by you only 20ft away? Scary SCARY loud. The Ducati tents/areas/merchandise is THE best... those crazy Italians know how to do it right. I hate to say this,,, but I kinda felt it coming with Hayden going to Ducati.... I think I am going to join him next season. Selling the rr and jumping ship. This trip sealed the deal for me. Now I just need to find an extra $20k laying around...

Sorry to ramble... but lots of sights today... a bit of overload.

My picks? How can I not go with....

Rossi
Nicky ( God I hope so)
Stoner
Depuniet
Lorenzo

Spies will finish 11th

from my vantage point in turn 1-4 it was obvious when Rossi and Stoner got serious. Nicky hung in there well also, qualifying was exciting. Lots of 125cc runoffs in our field of view but the highsides seem to be happening on the other side of the track. Watch the 125's run wide at T2, I counted 5 in the grass. Pedrosa never looked comfortable.

I think Rossi will own this and wrap up his season tomorrow.

Stoner

We got in very late yesterday as we got delayed in Chicago so I missed the practices, we also got late today trying to get our tickets, finding the parking was a nightmare as none of the people that work on the track knew what the hell they were doing.

We're at the Parts Unlimited hospitality tent in the back straight between 9 & 10, not much to see there but we also have close circuit TV, food and drinks so not all is bad.

Took my kid to see the paddocks and got a chance to have a brief conversation with Pete Benson (nicky's crew chief), according to him, he is not going to Ducati with Nicky, not his choice he said.

Anyways, I really didn't pay a lot of attention to QP because I was showing my kid almost every place of the track we could go. I am as tired as a walking horse but just looking at my kids's happy face makes it all bearable and fun.

Nicky looked good on QP but I don't think he can hang with the Bridgestone boys, at least not on dry... this is going to be another bridgestone race if this is dry. Stoner didn't look good at all, Elias looked better.

I am hating the picks but what the hell... here it is!

Spies ---- 8th

Rossi
Stoner
Lorenzo
Elias
Nicky

Elias could punch Lorenzo out of there but I am way to tired to even think.

We met a couple from Spain this morning who claimed to have been in a small group of insiders who met with Rossi last night. They claimed that Rossi stated many riders would boycott a wet race at this track.

We shall see.

But still a blast! It was the wind, not the rain that messed up this race unfortunately. Weather actually cleared up for a bit after they stopped the race, think they could have kept it going if they would have just waited a bit, but still a great race.

rossi talked about the wind and one camera shot at the end looked kinda spooky w/ the bikes moving all over cause of the wind gusts...

i wanted more but, well, like the Sr Chief used to say just b4 weekend pass kicked in, "Safety First"

At one point, 1 or 2 laps before the red flag, you could clearly see debri getting onto the track and I thought to myself, dang, it the wind is moving me just standing here, how are the riders coping with this and why hasn't the marshalls stop this thing by now... yeah, I fooked the races for eveyone!

The yamaha tent on the infiled (by the back straightaway) just ripped to shreds, at that moment, I told everyone, I think is time to get the fudge out of dodge and away we went to get in the car.

My laptop has been in the frits for most of last night and today and Ijust logged in so I don't really know what happened after or what they all said about it... the wind got really scarry at one point.

Glad that Nicky held on and punched Honda and Pedrosa in the face.

Trees down all over Indianapolis, including a large one blocking the street a couple blocks from our house. We were lucky, nothing but small branches in our yard. I didn't realize how bad it was when we were at the track, kind of sheltered from the storm in the suite and walking around under the stands.

yep, my dad called just before the GP race began saying he had fallen trees in his front yard in Louisville and it was headed our way. Although it was certainly windy it didn't feel "that" bad from where we were.

We went to the Indy Museum on Monday and the old man minding the door to the museum (funny old geezer btw, we hang out with him for a while), told us there was this guy from New Jersey that had picked up his Brand New Ducati that day (perhaps the day before) and had ridden it to the races only to find it (along with his buddies) in One thousand ninety eight pieces (no pun intended of course ). He also said the guy was literally crying. I really feel for that dude, not only because he just lost his new ride but because of all the logistical problem he now had to get back home.

I am sure there's gonna be more than one story similar to this one...
