Lorenzo now has to deal with a looming engine shortage. Just six race weekends into the 2013 MotoGP season, and the factory Yamaha riders are already using the fourth of the five engines which they have for the entire season.

All four Honda riders are still using engines #1 and #2 of the five in their allocation

Well what? Rossi is on the 3rd row for the race...

His results speak for themselves. When he is on the best bike, with the best tires flown him special for him on the day of the race against lesser talent he shined very brightly. Level the playing field with spec tires and more riders on competitive bikes and Rossi starts to become the lesser talent even if he is still the star of the show.

Good time by Hayden at the Catalunya test, but I guess he had special tyres flown in, eh?

What does Hayden have to do with Rossi or special tires?

Yeah, nothing.

I'm trying to make a point about your preparedness to disparage a rider's performances based on a conspiracy-type special-equipment view.

You take that view of Rossi - is there anyone else you include, or are everyone else's performances genuine? And Rossi's the only pretender out there?

Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were a child or are you just ignorant of MotoGP history?

There is no conspiracy to it. Prior to the spec tire rule coming into effect Michelin & Bridgestone were competitors in MotoGP. Michelin used to have tires custom made to the track conditions and flew them in the day of the race for Rossi to use. This is well documented in history of the sport. When you look at Rossi's results from those days versus the days where everybody is riding on the exact same spec Bridgestone tires it is easy to see that Rossi no longer destroys the grid or comes back from a 15 second ride thru penalty to win a race.
