MotoGP at Valencia - the last one of the year

FP1:
SPA-SPA-SPA-SPA-ITA
GB-ITA-SPA-SPA-ITA

Let's hope the MotoAmerica guys can get a championship running outside Europe that builds a strong rider base, and provides a stepping-off point for rest-of-the-world riders....

Though honours were even between Honda and KTM in the debut season in terms of wins, for 2013 the Austrians won all 17 rounds to post a so-far unbeaten run of 21 successive Moto3 race wins, smashing Hondas previous record of nineteen 125GPconsecutive victories during 1990-91. The underdog had triumphed.
This led Honda to cry foul, claiming KTM hadnt "respected the spirit of the class" a strange allegation from a company which invented oval pistons in creating the 32-valve eight-conrod NR500 V8 when 500GP rules stipulated a maximum of four cylinders for the category! It now seems Honda is intent on wreaking revenge with a full-on factory bike for 2014 that will redress the horsepower advantage KTM has enjoyed, making Moto3 arguably the only true category boasting a technical battle between rival manufacturers as any Grand Prix category must surely always be.
HRC boss Shuhei Nakamoto publicly accused KTM and Mahindra of "wanting to destroy motorcycle sport" by following strategies that have made Moto3 more expensive than Moto2. Compare a streetbike-derived control engine formula with a full-on race category and one might think it was inevitable.

Smile

Mick's 12 out of 15 still stands in my mind.
12/15 is 80 % win rate.
13/18 is 72 %.
And MM didn't get 12 in the first 15, otherwise I'd nae be yakking on the point.
Gotta say it ................
