Just met Nicky Hayden

I'm a camera man at the CBS affiliate in Indy. He came in this morning after the Bob and Tom Show and I shot two interviews with him. The local Ducati shop brought in an 848 #69 replica and we stood around and talked for a bit. I got the impression that life is good for MR. Hayden.
Im bummed because i'm gonna miss the GP this year because I wont be back from my honeymoon yet- Bad planning. Hope he wins.
I stuck a pic on here of the bike they brought. No pic of him and I....we're not supposed to do that.
That's all really. It was pretty cool. He's real laid back and nice.

Cool. He lives here in town...actually less than a mile from where I sit here in my office (or his house is...whether he really lives her or not, I don't know), but I've never seen him. I've seen his car around town, usually at Texas Roadhouse, but never seen or met him.

I met all three brothers at a Cycle News Christmas party several years back. I was stunned by how small they were. If they had gotten on each others shoulders, they still could've walked through a doorway without hitting their head!

OK, I'm exaggerating....but only a little!

I met Nicky at Daytona, right after he crashed the RC-51 qualifying at a lap record the previous lap. He was pretty banged up from that toss. Nice guy. We talked about growing up in western Kentucky for about 20 minutes while he was getting worked on for his ankle injury. He was an absolute toothpick framed guy then.
