Just back from Barber

WOW! Had a great trip!
First day was gorgeous weather all day. Great riding and seeing great friends was the best part. I got passed allot but I'm not going to try and make my bike be competitive on any racetrack. Did suffer a tire failure at turn 1, not sure what caused it but I got a clean puncture and went from full to flat in an instant at full lean. A moment of WTF and offtracked safely into the grass, waited for the session to end and limped back in, put on the old tire and got back out there. The track is challenging enough with elevation changes, off cambor turns and decreasing radius turns but then...

Day two, RAIN! But hey, what's a little rain to me? An opportunity for an open track. Only one other guy was out there in the heavy pour but I ran every lap. Slowly, but I got out there. Just had a great time and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I didn't shoot many pictures but here's a few, the museum is unbelievable. Carlos shot a bunch and we'll get an event CD in the mail with all our action pictures.

a few more. We'll get others up - just take some time.

Can't recommend the track enough. Very challenging and fun to ride!

That tire failure must have been one scary experience. Glad you kept it upright and rode it out especially under those circumstances. Would love to see more museum pics when you have time.
Thanks for sharing...

Glad you had a good, and safe, time. That museum is one of the most impressive places I have ever been to.

I just created a Snapfish account and am uploading over 250 pictures that are at least 2.6m per picture. All the museum shots you could hope for. No way I'm crushing my server with all these pictures. It'll take a few hours to upload them all and I'll post the link when done.

it's about 50% done uploading - you should be able to get there from this link:

https://www1.snapfish.com/shareereg1...=51985246/t_=0

looks like it'll make you register to see them so just use a junk email account.

Good times! Riding in the rain forces you to be smooth. A great time to work on lines. Great pictures. I hope I can get to Barber this year, looks like an outstanding track.

JB, Glad you had a blast. That track AND facility is absolutely amazing. Not to mention the museum. Then there are the local mountian roads.

Sorry to hear about the tire. I had similar situation on a group ride last year out in the middle of the orange groves.

Amazingly, I was missing a Dzus fastener and everyone was looking at me regarding JBs flat.

Luckily we found my fastener in the pits and I was off the hook.

Good time had by all.

Did I mention Brandi called?

WOW, nice pics. Glad you guys had a blast. I am hoping for a road trip to Barber sometime in the future. The furthest I can venture right now is RA.

And what was the background on the "Lunchbox" Scooter? It looked like an interchangeable rear.

that was a cool little bike. One didn't have the forks installed, we presumed it was so you could see inside. I'd love to find one of those.

Ha! I guess that would be the case. I looked up and saw the lightning, but not a good spot for me to really try and see who had the camera.

Can I get those at full res?

Is that the guy who had an SV650 last year? Name rings a bell but I can't picture the face.

And where are the shots of you on the GS?
