I'm not opposed to it Ripper, but it seems hard to get people to commit to a plan. I mentioned organizing a group ticket buy way back when they first announced the race, had a couple of people interested but no takers. Seems that most will do their own thing, hopefully we can still have some sort of meet and greet so we can put faces to names at least.
I'll check into it. I'm not going to go way out of my way (like putting up all the deposit money myself) to make it happen. I noticed that the cost could be quite a bit less and thought this would open the door for others to attend that normally wouldn't?
Just returned from a community informational meeting put on by the ICVA (Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association). Joie Chitwood, President of IMS spoke, along with representatives from IMPD (Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department) and the President of Indiana ABATE. Quite the production, complete with Red Bull girls and a video history presentation of motorcycle racing at the Speedway.
There are so many events planned during the week of MotoGP, Indianapolis will be jam packed. I've attached new schedules of events, along with maps of parking lots and details on the downtown special events, along with the hospitality guide put out for local businesses about what to expect.
