Finally, rumors have been flowing like the proverbial wine. Now, what is Indy going to have to address for safety?
It shouldn't be much different than prepping Daytona. That should be brutal fast racing. The F1 guys face a big problem with level of downforce, long, long straights, versus a fairly tight infield. The bikes don't have to concentrate on aero-grip... should be fun!

Historic Indy USGP Announcement On The Cusp

An e-mail from Indianapolis Motor Speedway states that they will make an announcement on July 16 which will make motorsports history. Presumably this means that on that day they will announce the date of their 2008 USGP MotoGP event.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway is announcing the dates for next year's MotoGP tomorrow. I'm participating in a ride sponsored by a local dealership that will end up at the track and get to be the first to hear all the plans and have access to reserve tix. I'll try and get some pics at the event and post.
Check out this link for live coverage from the track this afternoon. You might even see me there, there's supposed to be hundreds of bikes all lined up by style, I'll be the guy in the naked bike row on the 919.
Does this mean that we're not going to have another run at Laguna? or if we're going to have 2 US races, are we having Laguna in July and Indy in Sept? or Laguna in Sept (5th to 7th) and Indy on Sept (12th to 14th)... this doesn't make any sense to me unless they move the Laguna date.
Ticket application sent in by Ang. I think we picked the hotel but can't make reservations yet. I will be there this weekend. May swing by there and see what I can do in person. We also have to book our convention for next year so maybe I can get a deal if we book there.
The room we are getting is a great place. Once we can book I will post. Spacious rooms and great location!!
James and Mike you are coming right??? Or you just ignoring Angela?
