Ice

Has anybody in the colder regions ever done any ice racing? I'm smashing together a 79 Z50 with an 88cc 4sp/ manual clutch motor and my ssr125 to go play on the lake. I'm already learning lots of tire tricks, from indexing the ice screws to making my own liners to protect the tube. These tires are gonna SUCK to spoon on!

Also, I know my screws are not indexed yet. I'll be doing that by hand with a nut-driver.

I want to do that to my 919 tires. Foam filled perhaps.

I'll probably have plenty of GoPro footage of going slow and crashing to share! We've been talking about hitting up the auto cross/ lot races this summer and having a handful of us on minis give it a whirl as well 😃

I think I'm going to have to adjust the exhaust lol. Maybe it will keep my butt warm though!

Let me know when you have to mod your bars like this because of the lean angle !!!

Lol I'm safe from that mod! Mac (the fast guy who's bike sticks like a bug) has raced dirt tracks for a few years (RS750 and CRF450 in GNC2) and he doesn't even touch the brakes, if he even lets off the gas. He's insane.
I, on the other hand, am used to basically commuting and drag racing. We also found that within an hour of hitting the lie in these temps, my suspension literally freezes solid and the back gets really loose. So I don't lean nearly as hard! I had a bunch of good laps on the road course with the GoPro, but it froze within 15 seconds and shut off! Next outing I'll have to tape a heater pack to the back of it and see if I can get it to last a little longer:-/

That looks like a blast! Did you use the tires that you studded?
