There goes the Championship...

At this juncture, he's better off getting hurt having fun than racing on the RC212V Pocket Bike...

He's better off resting though.

Sounds like a cop out to me. Other people have raced with broken limbs. Maybe it is his way of preparing for not doing well this season..... I am just saying is all...

That's sort of like Hillary Clinton pulling out of an appearance preparing for not being elected. Just like Nicky at this point, they're both out of the game.

Nicky is playing smart. Honda screws him, he screws Honda, he recuperates, does well at Indy and he's signing a contract with a slick red Italian manufacturer who actually wants him to win.

Well, let's be fair here Jet, Hilary's issue was that darn sniper and his wandering bullet.

I am really not sure Ducati will or should take Nicky on, I just don't know if the kid still has the fight in him. Admittedly, Honda has screwed many riders over but I don't know if that makes up for what I see as a lack of enthusiasm in Nicky.

There is something to the argument that a person can only take so much pushing before they start pushing back. Maybe this is Nicky's power play while he still has some chips left to strike back with?

You ever have take of those jobs where everything sounds really good before you're hired? People are friendly and all smiles welcoming you aboard.

When your computer arrives it's a Commodore 64, everyone else has a Pentium 4 with 4g of ram.
When your phone arrives it's a bagphone from 1989, everyone else has a BlackBerry.
When your company car is delivered it's a 1978 Pinto and everyone else drives a Maserati.

That's how I think Nicky feels.

I hope so Ridge. I would love to see the kid on top of his game again.

If you think Nicky is washed out then, so is 80% of the MotoGP field... what are they going to do about it?

Now, if after getting on the Ducky he does worse than Melandri then... he's better off looking to start selling used cars at his dad's lot.

I don't think he is "washed out" in that sense. I just wonder if he still has the fire in his belly anymore?

Are you kidding me? is this fire-less attitude why he is the only one that does more laps than everyone else at every test they go?

Practice laps are one thing amigo, go out and ride the pants off the bike when it is race day. Maybe he is doing more laps to build confidence? Or dare I say it - to compensate for lack of skill / talent? I don't want to say that about the Kentucky kid, but saying he does a million laps does not mean he still has the fire within to win when it is actually race day. Fini.

Fair enough... I just don't think that a guy who goes out and trains like a dog and makes 20 to 30 more laps than anyone in the tests is a guy that doesn't have a fire on him or wants to throw the race away... there is no logic behind it though.

I would think that if you don't cut it, no one will want to give you a chance and for him to be there just pretending does not make any sense. This is like arguing about politics, at best, all we can do is speculate that Honda is indeed giving him everything he needs to make that bike available.

You are talking SO Crazy right now I can barely bellieve what I am reading!

Give that kid some tire and a machine he can STEER and its ON again... how can you even question his drive or want from where you sit? Daniel is SPOT on with what he says.... laps laps laps trying to get that bike to ride right for him.... settings, traction on off, tires, on and on and on... he tries everythign Honda gives him... and NOTHING Honda doesnt give him. Like the updated chasis - oh he finally got that and made a top 5 - which WAS a podium till the tires went out.

He's got issues... no doubt... but they arent in the belly.

Wait till you see the signature I get in INDY from him...

To all my WT supporters....

Lots of Love

There might be a small element of politics in this but maybe the kid is genuinely hurt and shouldn't ride given the nature of his injury! Ankle injuries are slow to heal as is and are always 100% load bearing. It is QUITE feasible that riding would make a hairline a full fracture or worse.

BTW a thousand million "I toldyasos". When I heard Nicky was doing X games I immediately thought of Hopper doing that Moto-X gig a few years back and got a bad vibe!

My trip to Indy is looking gloom right now, I am so pissed, Distributor rep is dragging his feet and can't give me 100% assurance that my tickets are available so I have yet to make any hotel reservations or airfare purchases... dammit!

He's no more washed up than Rossi was the first race of this season when everyone thought it was over for him too...the break will do him good, new perspective.
