FOX possibly dropping racing on SPEED

Has anyone read about the possibility of FOX dropping Motogp and WSBK from SPEED?! Good article about it on superbikeplanet.com.

Here's part of the article from Mobile Soup:

"Stormy Seas Ahead For American Moto TV?
by staff
Friday, October 12, 2012
Dorna has placed three MotoGP events in the United States in 2013, but there's a very real chance American fans might have a tough time seeing those races unless they're in the grandstands at Laguna Seca, Indianapolis and Austin.

American media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, reported this week that FOX is considering a conversion of SPEED, its motorsports cable network in the United States, into an all-sports channel to challenge ESPN and NBC Sports Network. FOX recently renewed its broadcasting rights deal with Major League Baseball, which gives FOX the right to show games on its network channel and another nationally distributed FOX channel.

FX is a possibility, but unlikely. That's where the rumored all-sports channel enters the picture.

The timing of the possible transformation of SPEED is unclear. But it may be bad news for MotoGP and World Superbike fans.

SPEED has been the American TV home of both series. And while some motorsports is expected to be televised on a new Fox Sports channel, it's questionable whether either motorcycle series would survive the chop."

How bad would this suck?!!

See just one MotoGP website race and you'll forget Speed in a flash.
Instead of less than 50 minutes of racing, you get at least 1 hour 20 of no advert race coverage and commentary.

That's my issue. I already get Directv and pay extra for HD, plus a FOX extra sports deal so we also get soccer the kids like, and Speed and Fuel are included. I have buddies that pay the full price to Motogp, around $100 or a little more, for the online access. Great coverage yes, but how many superslomo/ghost camera shots can you watch? Hell, I even pay for the Motogp app on my iPhone!

But one can get NASCAR, etc elsewhere. Hell, we just got WSBK in HD!

And how bout them cutting off the last of the WSBK CHAMPIONSHIP when Biaggi wins by half a point, so we can watch a wreck at Talladega?!

Not directed at you man by any means, just seems like enough is enough. Dang.

Like Chris Rock said, Daddy can't even get the big piece of chicken anymore...

north american "motorcycles also ran" mentality
but its sure better than 10-20 years ago
for ama or wsb or motogp or the drags was a crap shoot
they never even acknowledged bikes were at the drags
in europe and rest of modern world motogp is front and center and riders are like rock stars but $100-150 for year is too high a price
love them all but hope Dani gets a turn
not like Dan Marino
