Question Anyone going to Road America this year?

Are any WT members going to Road America for AMA weekend this year? I have done gone in the past, what a great track, great action.

Perhaps it was the result of anxiety?

You talking about? http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/event...eid=2009010935

I may go.

Who wants to be the guy who brings a truck or van to carry coolers and lawn chairs if we all ride to Road America?

Me and a couple friends from the Cities were planning on riding over and now the guy who was first to bring it up seems to be backing out.

Used to go every year to the C.A.R.T races back 10-15 years ago. My dad was a Texaco rep and we'd get free tickets, hospitality tent passes, and all kinds of other little perks. GREAT track, would love to make it back again.

At 4+ miles its is one of the longest tracks in the US, and with 2 long straights (one with a small Kink), also the highest average speeds. Truly a spectacle as you can get down right next to the fence in many places. I bring my mountain bike and hit several good areas during the day of racing, its such a huge track that walking is not a option if you want to cover ground. But the crowds are small and friendly, and June in the Wisconsin countryside is scenic as it gets. They have a new karting track that is supposedly killer for super motards, its sponsored by Briggs and Stratton. Everyone in the area should make it there once, just to see it. Standing trackside (at the Kink) as the superbikes go by at 200mph 10 feet from your face is something you don't forget soon!

Perhaps it was the result of anxiety?

I wanna go!! I was there once to see a late model race they also had a practice for Indy cars. That place was awsome and I wasn't even into racing at the time. Had a blast.

I am always sure to make it at least one day. I usually ride and the lady drives the truck up for refreshments and snacks. Let me know what day the WT meet is going to be.
