Received my Wolfman tail bag today, fits my rack perfectly, same tapered shape, expandable too. Like it a lot, Wolfman makes nice products, thinking about the front fender tube/tool bag next, just to complete the theme.

Rode the XRL to work this morning, forecast was 77 and mostly sunny with no rain until Wednesday. Yeah, that changed, started pouring about 5pm when it was time to head home, hung around my office until 6 and it was only looking worse so I finally just went for it. Long 15 mile ride home but bike did fine, no scary moments other than the thunder, lightning and tornado sirens.

Stopped by my tavern for lunch and ran into a couple of dual sport buddies on their KLR's, Gin snapped a pic of us chatting and comparing bikes. Nothing like a portolet for a backdrop, left over from our Final Four party Saturday.

why the fork brace, do you notice a lot of flex in your forks? like to hear how it effects the ride. By the way those bags look great, another item to add to my to do list. it looks like I'll be spending more on after market parts for my XR650 than I did for the bike.

I haven't ridden it hard enough yet to really notice flex, but everything I've read says a fork brace will really enhance the handling and stability. Plus I'm a sucker for nicely machined farkles!

I'm loving the Wolfman bags, the rear bag is expandable and I was able to make a grocery run and fit everything needed for grilling out last night in it. See this thread for some better pics of the rear bag: http://wristtwisters.com/adventure-r...-fun-city.html

The must be helmet-off photos of you buried to the frame/motor with a big roost coming off the rear tire. Otherwise it never happened.

Finally getting my new knobbies mounted and balanced today, my cheapo bike lift made removing the wheels a breeze!

I sprayed some lube on it this spring but it needs a good cleaning, going to get it all stripped down and relubed before I put the wheel back on.

latest ride

it took me a few weeks to get back to post these, but here are a few shots from the last ride mantelhonda and i took. my cell phone doesn't capture a lot of detail, but you can see that we had some fun weather to play with (at least for socal). the hills were totally green from our recent rains, and the place was practically empty because most people around here think they are going to melt if they get a little damp.
