you'll have to excise the double post then..... I did a search for "triumph adventure", and all I got was threads dating back to 2007..

its not a double post. As I recall, there was not any real info about the bike at the time, just a short teaser video...your post had more better information!

I had ridden the Varadero for about 1000km in one day, and it was super comfortable on the highway and back country roads, not to mention the amazing mileage (55mpg @ 80mph). A bit heavy the second it left the pavement though. This might just be the ticket to satisfy a mid-size adventure bike. W/O the hefty price tag Honda's are going for these days.

The bike is awesome, I am old, but it makes me get up and get giddy.

Now, you want to piss on my pic-a-nic basket too?

That bike usurped the thrill I had for that Yamaha Super Tenre' by a Canadian mile. (Canada is so open, I heard a US mile is nothing like a Canada mile) I am using the poster for the Tenere' to line my cat box now.

you have apperently never been on 55 in Illinois you can let go of the steering wheel and read a novel before having to give a vehicle any input.

same can be said for the turn pike in Oklahoma. The one in IL is the worst though nothing interesting to look at for mile and mile and miles. at least the state of OK is pretty.

Canada is worse.

And that bike is sweet. Advrider has a couple thread going that are well over 100 pages long. Lots of info. But no rides yet. Can't wait to see the tests of the bike.

This makes things interesting. As of right now I am planning on putting the deposit down on a yamaha tenere' after the first of the year. I am going to have to look at this before I put any money down on a bike.

Interstate 5 in Central Cali is pretty shitty, too.

The fact that this bike is in the 800cc range doesn't disuade me one bit, because it's a Triumph Triple. The look of it dressed out completely on Triumphs site to me is like a needle full to a junkie. It's sooo sweet, I gotta see the dentist this week because of accelerated tooth decay.

I can't wait!

haha.. I'd be lucky if a dealer gave me 3k on trade for my 919. They have no resale here whatsoever. After my last stint in the prairies, nothing would make me happier than 100mph w/o the wind blast for 10 hours straight. This bike seems to have so much going for it. Call me an old man, but the comfort and mileage of these bikes really has me going.

I don't know if I'll be getting down there this spring again. I just found out my contract with the federal gov't is not being renewed in January because of the the budget freeze. Besides, wouldn't it be your turn to come down here anyways?
