I sat on it at the show, I really like the ergonomics. It would make a nice addition to the garage, I'l probably look for a used one in a few years instead of a GS.

So...the Tenere is supposed to be delivered sometime in August. I didn't put a deposit down back in March but one has landed in my lap. I will be heading down to Texas hopefully early in August to pick up a blue bike. The bike in Texas is $1500 off of MSRP so I didn't think I could pass it up.

I'll bring it up to Indy once I get it. I hope it arrives early August. If it here in time I will have it at the GP.

I am down south of Bloomington. That would be a little bit of a trip for you. After the bike gets here I am sure I will have it up in Indy to show it off to Scott and all of the Indy guys. You will be more than welcome to check it out wherever.

Hope so! I was down in your neck of the woods this afternoon, put a couple hundred miles on the Super Duke enjoying the southern Indiana countryside.

Right on. I should have said that I'm 1.5 hours south of Bloomington. Oops.
I do get up that way and ride HWY 150 and 450 sometimes. Good roads up there. Give me a shout if you ever wanna meet up and ride, be it up there or down here.

It is confirmed that my new bike is currently sitting in a warehouse in Dallas,Tx. The dealer I am getting it from is only 40 miles from there so I hope they get the bike this week and then I can pick it up next Friday. If it isn't ready by then it will be the 19th before I can get it. Good news is it will be here before the Indy GP.

Well, you can't go the same speed due to break-in procedures, so you'd better find some side roads and make it an even 1500 miles!

Got home yesterday about 2:30.

Picked up the bike in Longview, TX around 1 pm EDT. The ambient air temp was reading 104. My first response to the bike was that it is tall. I don't remember it being that tall when I looked at it in January. Once on the road it feels very well balanced. The suspension is set very stiff. The twin engine spins up a lot slower than the 919 of course but has great torque everywhere. Riding position is upright and very comfortable. I have to adjust the windshield some because of the buffeting. I don't think it is going to take much to make it perfect. The only really nagging issue is the handle bar is not exactly as I want it.

Steering is neutral and the bike handles great. Not as easy to turn in as the 919 but I didnt expect it too. I didn't get to take a whole lot of pictures. It was just too damned hot to do much. I stopped every hour for the first 5 hours and drank water and gatorade. The highest temp I saw was a sustained 115 near Atlanta, Arkansas. Finally dropped below 100 after 350 miles. I did 450 miles the first day and finished up with almost 350 yesterday. I will try and post up a few pics of the bike tomorrow and it will be at the MotoGP in a couple of weeks.

Impressions after 800 miles now. I really like this bike. I love what it is capable of and the easy way it just eats miles but it is completely different from the 919. I am really glad I didn't trade in my bike. Very few things move me the way the niner does.

All right, now the fun begins! Glad you made it home all right, I did an 1800 mile ride through the south last month in 100+ degree heat, know how that feels.

Don't listen to Scott, as you well know for him this means buying 78 new farkles for the bike before you even turn the key to start it again

Seriously though, CONGRATS!!! And looking forward to many more riding impessions and reports.

I am already looking for options on the handle bars. I am going to try rotating them and searching to see what others have done.

There are multiple Tenere's in the Grand Rapids Michigan area. 3 that I know of personally, well 4 but the 4th one is the one I'm buying tomorrow (Cross fingers).
Check out Fox Power sports in Grand Rapids, they have the Blue one still available as of yesterday. Village Motor sports in Holland Michigan, I think they got the blue one as well, Babbits Motorsports in Muskegon, they had a black one last I knew.

They are all on the floor and ready to be taken home. :-)
