Peace at last in the Galaxy...

Well, after much hoo-hahing about 919 or cruiser, cruiser or 919, peace has finally come to me. Coming Thursday, 2008 Honda Shadow Aero 750. My dealer had it for $5200, but i talked them down $300 to $4900. I'm excited. No more wrestling with giving up the badazzness of the 919 for the relaxation. One for everyday and one for Sunday best. Picture to come. It's that sweet red/cream white combo.

Congrats on the new bike. Just don't start wearing black socks with sandals and yelling at kids on the lawn.

Those middleweight cruisers like the Shadow 750 are a great bargain. I used to have a Suzuki M50 (800cc), and if my buddies' 1300s and 1500s were a hair faster, you never would've known it. I also used to get 50 mpg easy on that thing. If I had to do it over again on a cruiser, I'd take one of the 750s or 800s any day over their bigger brothers.

ya i mean i love riding my dads vtx1800.... but its so big and heavy.... and MPG sucks! i think i got 22mpg on it once after playin in the twisties with it... normally gets like 30 MAX. I have ridden a shadow 750 once and it was a very nice bike... not to heavy but not super light so it still feels planted and firm. and plenty of powa to scoot around at a decent clip.

So you have them both, right? That's the way to go right now. Used bikes bring almost nothing, if you're trying to sell. It's so nice to have a choice. Good job.

Only issue with that Shadow Phantom (black) is the price. In my local dealer the other day and the price of it wasn't marked. Asked, and it was around $8 grand. Huh? Other Shadows around $5 grand and change. "The Phantom has fuel injection." So, fuel injection and black paint = $3000?? Honda makes no sense sometimes. Suzuki's midsize cruisers are fuel injected and the price is in line with the regular Shadow. I don't get it.

Exactly, if you can afford to hold on to your other bike, why not.

There is a sweet spot were you should either sell or keep long term, though.

Well, kids. As promised the Shadow Aero. I was going to do some family shots with the Super Cub, Passport, CB500T, CB750, 919 and Aero, but its so damn windy here right now I didn't want to submit them all to the dust. Anyway, enjoy!

Thread bump....

I need help. Wanna get a personalized plate for it, but can't think of anything. You guys and gals have any ideas? The only one I've come up with is LAMONT, as in "The Shadow is actually Lamont Cranston, wealthy young man about town," but otherwise nothing. Maybe GOONER since I'm an Arsenal Supporter... i don't know

I get that reference, I dont know how many other people would...

How about Sombra...I'd say Penumbra, but it's too long!

Hmm, Kage? That's Japanese for Shadow. And that makes more sense than Spanish.

MRHONDA would be cool, except that we're limited to 6 letters in Iowa. I wish we could get seven. Keep em coming guys.
