Sorry, I cant give you any info on the Suzuki, It does look nice. But I think the triumph looks better and has way more character. IMO Character beats out practicality when it comes to bikes, especially cruisers.

Yes.... after a little research.... it is a Kawi MeanStreak in Suzuki clothes.... It did get good reviews in its day.... but I think its days were short.....
I've ridden the big Suzuki M109R muscle cruiser, was a very nice bike other than being HUGE.
I've also ridden their little 650 thumper cruiser, was ok for what it was.
That's all I got.
Speaking about the M109, A lady came in the shop awhile back looking for her a first bike, One of our guys was waiting on her and she was sitting on several different style bikes. She spotted a new M109R and sat on it.
Then she said " This tank is so big and wide that it spreads my legs so far apart that I feel like I'm giving myself to the bike."
I about fell in the floor.
Well, Tomorrow I am gonna take 1/2 day and hit the Triumph Demo day.....
Close to a decision.... But I am gonna be honest, I stopped to look at that Marauder again..... It's a great looking bike, and very comfortable to sit on.
So I plan 1st riding the Speedmaster ( and anything I can get my hands on during the Demo day), then head up to try and let them take the Marauder out.....

...and as soon as she felt the vibes of the big v-twin, she was in love.

Someone has to ask the obvious question as we visualize the scene....

GTONUT,
I see you're looking into the cruisers with the muscle look. Not sure of all your'e requirements but the 1100 v-star custom in midnight black looks killer. A first generation V-max is pure muscle too. Since you're going to Triumph day are you looking at the bonneville/scramblers? I always thought those were cool bikes.

The V-Star looks ok........... but I am trying like heck to stay around the $5000 price range....
As far as the triumph......... I am looking at the Speedmaster..... I want forward controls....
Hey............. who the frick knows what part of this world your are in..... you seem to travel like the wind....
......... Get your ass down here..... Demo day is Tue and Wed.
I was suppose to be on a plane tonight ... but, said f-it! I'm outside of Philly. Where am I going? Calendar is light tomorrow and wouldn't mind taking a break for a bit.

Golfing tomorrow (errr, later today) otherwise I'd shoot up there and check it out.
Be wondering what the fuss is about and I'm checking out cruisers anyways.
Look forward to hearing about it.
My old Triumph never had an issue and there is one of the same style Tigers at the dealer now with 85K on it and no issues.
Other than little odd things that happen (*like with any manufacturer) I am not aware of any known issues at all with the bonneville line (and yes, the SpeedMaster falls in that category - same motor).
A close friend had an 05 SpeedMaster and now has an 09 Speedmaster. The FI is wonderful. The bike never had issues before, but now everything is better.
The Triumph was nice..... dont get me wrong. Did it Wow me.... no, but it was nice.
Going tomorrow night to relook at the Marauder, every review I have read had nothing but great things to say about them. I actually think the Marauder is a great looking bike....
I rode a speedmaster before and I felt very cramped (6'1'' 230) its small for a cruiser, doesnt really have much power either compared to other cruisers, make sure you ride one before you buy it, most triumph dealers will let you demo them.
If you really want the best of both worlds try a roadstar warrior...

just my
I rode the Speedmaster yesterday......
I am 5"10" ..... 32in inseam, and I found it to be the opposite. I felt I had to sort of swivel my hips to properly shift the bike..... I felt too far away from the foot controls...
Power was fine.... I am not a speed demon by any means....
But after riding it...... I came away with a "meh" feeling about it....
How about a Triumph Thruxton? Note the teaser base T-Bonnie doesn't come with $900 of Tach, tools and centerstand!
If someone gave me a cruiser, I'd ride the water cooled/belt/FI Yammy Vstar-1300.
Im not sure of how I missed this - Maurader = Mean Streak , ifyo ulike the looks and want it to go you need to ditch the stock exhaust , get a K and N and a power commander - then it will go. Those bikes are so choked down by emissions crap, its pathetic. One you put some stuff on it they actually perform much better -
As for other bikes, +1 on the M109, that bike isa riot ! I got to ride one once and was really impressed by it - it handles very well for a big cruiser and makes awesome power - if you whack the throttle open in first and second gear at about 10/15mph it will spin the rear tire ! Way fun !
Othe ones if you like the power cruiser thing -
M90 - baby M109
Star Warrior - fun ride !
Vulcan 2000 - yeah, kind of a more traditions looking cruiser, but, that motor kicks butt ! TORQUE everywhere ! And it like diferent eahsut stuff also - I had one for my demo, I put a Muzzy exhaust, K and N filter assembly and a Power commander on it. It dynoed @ like 90/100 hp and 180 fltlbs of torque !

Must have forward controls..... I am tired of folding my fatass up to ride a bike

This is an attractive bike...
2oo7 Suzuki Boulevard M 50 Black
I am heading to a Suzuki dealer tonite to look at a Used Warrior.... I will get my ass on one of those.... How many cc's are those?
Quote:
Or one of these? Actually I like the blacked out flat black and red ones better, but still a good looking machine...
2005 Kawasaki Mean streak
See..... I think the Marauder is a much better looking bike.... and since its a twin to that..... I prefer the Marauder....
glad i'm broke else i'd be looking at victory I love the looks of those cruisers, and they handle pretty well to, but like harley they think there's gold some where.
