H-D stuff expensive!

So, I took Hondaf4iguy and clean up the garage a bit. Like many, time has been precious and lacking to get a lot of the smaller nuisense task done. The things that you have looked at for years.

I really don't sleep well, so I have been attacking the tasks the last few nights where I haven't been traveling.

I started with the H-D. I made mods and put farkles on that have been lying around for years. Done! Now, need to go get a new rear tire. I could get another 1000+ miles out of it, but I'm goofy with tires and brakes. The gangsta wide white is $178.99+ tax! Plus, $65 for mount and balance!

I just re-read my previous post. I'm starting to sound like RC90!

My tire will not be reading until day's end. I told myself that spending money on H-D farkle is a waste! But, I got sucked right back into it today. Roaming the showroom, I just had to by some extra useless crap! I didn't have visors over my rear directional light ... had to have chrome visors! Oh, I don't have a chrome clock attached to my chrome riser ... need that also! Though my saddle bags hide the ugly rear axle I need the axle covers? Make the insanity stop!!!!!!

I spent more today on H-D crap that is useless than a complete 685 KLR engine overhaul!

I just retrieved the tire and put it back on the bike. Polished the bike up and a test ride. All is good. Just letting the KN filter sit with the cleaner.

Well the cost was more than expected. The tire price when up by $10. I forgot about the new tube price. They said 1 hr to change a tire? WTF. I also special ordered a waterproof billet 12V auxillery for $119! And, a few other nick nacks! Yes, I'm a dumba$$!

On a side note. They were dyno'ing today. One tech and customer were all proud about the 82 rwhp from the mods they just completed. I just kept a straight face. Bob the Service Mgr knows me and just winked at me. He's had more than a few of my bikes in there.

Amazing how much more money I make on H-D OEM stuff because dem good ole boys are still thinking their shiot is made here in the good ole USA with some good quality control.

The more educated consumer chooses the aftermarket stuff which, sometimes is twice as better as oem and cheaper. Hell the same Dunlop tire that you get from the dealer can be had a lot less.

Oh well... more power to H-D for their marketing ways!

Not Milwakee. I put on 4000 miles in 5 days (there were 2 days of no riding) after working on it a month ago or so. It is a champ.

Sounds like a reliable steed.

You are going to miss out on quite the HD experience here for the 105th. The new museum is quite the sight to see. Lots of cool racing history and technical evolution of American iron. I am not a huge fan but I really enjoyed it.

I've never been involved or wrapped up in all the H-D fanfare and hype. I just like the bikes and what I've done with H-D's and their custom clones.

Never attended a H.O.G. event or any rallies.
